Just tuning in on tv...

Heard part on radio....

Just knew bonaficio was gonna get on..

Coomer said on radio he was o-4 in SB and just knew he was gonna get his first steal after he said that...

Of course he scores the most likely winning run..

Frustrating lost. . Many many chances to score early.. frickn DPs

Said before the cubs need to add a bat somewhere, either LF, CF or 2B to add a spark..

Tomorrow game going to be pitiful to watch against Sales..
Looking like a series lost now or possibly a sweep. ..

Gonna be a long week listening to sox fans gloat

This was one of the worst games I ever watched. The Sox are horrible defensively and looked like Gods today.

You can even add 3B to that list, we can move Bryant to LF. But you're right, we need another bat BAD

Farmer and DJ did a great job commenting about the shadows and good references to the dominant Lee Smith

He was inconsistent but the big calls all went the Sox way.

I think there were plenty of calls that favored each team. Although it seemed like a few in key situations did favor the Sox.

Been much better lately, though. Probably why they stopped losing all the damn time.

Yeah I don't want hear how this team needs pitching, it's pretty clear they need more hitting. And yeah I know we are young but that's no excuse! We still need to manufacture some runs!

NL park. I would like to see how he does dealing with a DH. It is good that he is rebounding but still. Beating a AL team in a NL environment holds less value.

He has been real good the last 3 starts. 0 runs cant knock him but it has been against poor offenses but still major league players. You def. take what he has given.

Honestly what has impressed me the most about Hendricks is he's upped his k rate from last season from 5.27 to 7.18 k/9. Now 7 k/9 isn't "OMG" amazing or anything but it shows me there's enough deception in his game that his control has some upside. I have always liked him and even mentioned before 2014 I felt he was probably underrated based on the numbers because he's a control guy and they obviously aren't as sexy as big pitch guys.

That being said, a 7 k/9 and his present 1.55 bb/9 makes him interesting. I'd mentioned this some where on here before but his numbers look a lot like Mike Mussina. Mussina had career marks of 7.11 k/9 1.98 bb/9 0.95 and hr/9 to go along with a LOB% of 72.7% and a 43.3% GB rate. Hendricks on his career has been 6.32 k/9 1.61 bb/9 0.65 hr/9 with a 75.2% LOB% and a 48.7% GB rate. I'll leave it to others to talk about stuff because to be honest I don't even remember what Moose threw but effectively Hendricks has put up numbers quite similar to him regardless.

Mussina ended up with a career fWAR of 83.2 which happens to be 11th best of pitchers since 1950. If Hendricks ends up half that he will be an enormous get for what amounts to half a year of Dempster who retired 2 years later. And honestly, I don't think it's entirely far fetched to believe Hendricks will rack up WAR. One of the things that made Mussina so valuable was he was almost never hurt. After his 1991 debut of 12 starts the lowest amount he had in any season was 24 and of his 17 full years pitching Mussina made 30+ starts 12 times. Given Hendricks isn't really a max effort guy with his fastball and doesn't have a dynamite curve and additionally the fact he doesn't walk many batters you can really envision him being someone who stays pretty healthy.

Now don't get me wrong here I'm not saying that Hendricks is clearly Mussina. I'm just saying that his numbers look similar and given what Mussina was that a much bigger upside with those type of numbers than most would expect out of Hendricks.

We will lose again today, 4-0. We have no offense to touch Sale and that's all they'll need.
