Over the next 2 to 3 weeks my son and I will be heading west on a little adventure before he has to go off to college. Headed first to Kansas City for a day the Denver and the surrounding area for 4 days. Next will be a day at the Grand Canyon with a stop in Las Vegas before we get to Studio City, California. Next will be San Francisco for a day then back to Studio City and then a trip to San Diego. Gonna get to try Fresh Brothers pizza for the first time.....can’t wait. if anybody has some sites I should see I would appreciate any tips.
Try to hit Oceanside, California. I fell in love with that place when I went. It’s like 30 minutes north of San Diego. It’s perfect there. And the Top Gun house is there

I’m having the “fatty melt” at Crave. the bun is 2. Grilled cheese sandwiches. Also the Brussel sprouts with sausage are the freaking bomb.
Had the Oreo speed wagon and brownie milkshakes

It was AMAZING. My mouth started watering as soon as I opened the door
Glad you liked it. There's so many BBQ joints in KC, but that's one of my favorites. Old school and I love their bbq sauces.

Yesterday.... Rocky Mountain National Park. We took 36 thru Boulder for the first time, it’s a better view than taking 25 to 66 to 36. Estes Park always nice, the kid didn’t want to go to the seasoned restaurant so we ended up having a Nathan’s hot dog at the Alpine snack shop at the top. Seen a lot of elk and a baby moose, she was huge. Today is the trek to Mt. Evans for the first time and then tomorrow is Flagstaff. Going to see the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater.

Haven't been there since I was a kid. I remember being young & stupid, and not knowing my grandma has a fear of heights, and telling her, "Look, Grandma! You can see the river through the bridge!" as were were tight in the middle of it.

I want to get my wife out there, but she's worried I'd do the same to her :p.

I remember it being gorgeous, though.

It’s perfectly safe as well.

Finally got to Big Bills pizza today. It was very good pizza. Couldn’t stop eating. The garlic knots and wigs top notch as well. Went there after the excursion to Mt. Evans.....that is a must see if you go to Colorado

Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater this morning and then off to Las Vegas.
Stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel. If you are ever planning a trip to the canyon check out this place. A+++ in my opinion. Nice little pub inside very good apps. A little pricey but well worth it.
We may stay in Vegas or head to Studio City tonight......

Oh, I know. But phobias aren't rational.
It was a tad bit windy when we were there and at the end of the day it wasn’t crowded at all so the bridge was moving a little, that’s what she might not like

Then graffiti on Mt. Rushmore, maybe a dick on Lincolns forehead. Bury nuke waste in the grand Canyon, then fill it in with lead infused concrete.

sorry. I will mudBog elsewhere.

So, no deforestation of Yellowstone and Yosemite? You wouldn't last a week in the current administration.

thought about kiteboarding through a Ute reservation in, you guessed it, Utah, but you know, would cost a lot of gas to get out there

Ok, if you're headed to the Springs stop off at a burger joint called "Crave" off I-25 in Castle Rock. Freaking awesome hamburgers and if they still have the Tres Leches milkshake, get it and thank me later.

I just saw this thread and was heading here to give a recommendation for Crave, but saw your post. It's awesome.
