he is pretty good in the defensive zone. offense sucks, but is pretty descent defensivley. to bring stalberg in to the mix is just stupid and you know thats joes hot button. so predictable its too easy.

has nothing to do with that even if you want it to...

claiming a young guy is a "wizard" at anything is why i brought stalberg in...both players are still developing

Kruger's a wizard at being undersized and taking heavy hits.

Kruger and Shaw both need to learn how to take a hit.

One of them is going to get severely injured down the line if they continue to attempt to dodge hits like they do.

Kruger ducks down and puts his head in harms way, way too often.

Shaw turns his back to the hit at the last second and while he has drawn several penalties this way he has also face planted into the glass several times.

Here's to hoping both of them avoid those injuries because as we all saw in the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup run, having players on their ELC that can chip in and contribute is huge in the salary cap era.

I agree.

Though I think some of Shaw's falling comes from him droppin a little too easily - trying to draw a call much like Brad Marchand. It helps explain why he's such an effective pest (that shit gets under guys skin) and after a while- he just wasn't getting the calls which leads me to think the stripes got wise to his shit.

That's the only part of Shaw's game I wasn't a big fan of. Thankfully, it's the easiest to correct.

I'll give each Shaw and Kruger credit for having absolutely no fear of going to the dirty areas to retrieve a puck, especially considering how undersized they are.

Of course he does.

Torres made a career on hits like that (not necessarily hits that damaging, but big, hard hits that often cross the line). The only thing that stops that hit is Torres not playing.
