Shepherd's Pie(not shepard's pie you boomer) & cottage pie are both amazing--you've probably never had it with HP Sauce. Fish & Chips is great too--just not all the time. I sometimes just get mine grilled & blackened with asparagus if I want to be healthy. Former Irish pub owner here.
The fresh cod in England is amazing, world's better fish and chips than whatever fishdicks @greg23 eats

The Jags are the most seasoned team in the league in traveling overseas. They usually leave on Thursdays. I don’t now how much leaving a couple hours later will effect them but I’ll guess not at all.

Blackened fish is the way to go. My preferred delivery method is a grouper sandwich. I've probably ordered that 100 different places.

I have never been to England, but I do work with Brits quite a bit.

There was a place in Savannah, GA called "Pie Society" that had legit British meat pies. The steak and ale one was my go to there and was always good.

How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?

I’ll take any advantage we can get. I think people have written off the Jags, but they’ve actually just had a rough schedule. No one would’ve expected better than 2 wins at this point. And if we go off just preseason power rankings, they should’ve only won 1 game, which they did.
I hope da Bears don't take them, or any other team, lightly. ef the records, 'any givin' Sunday' as the saying goes...

I think leaving a couple hours later would have them missing the Benny Hill reruns that night...but they should check their local listings for time & channel.

good to know....
They serve certain ales, cask temp, but it's not warm. Just like you don't chill a merlot, certain beer is not supposed to be ice cold at all. This is not unique to England by any means.

Perhaps @Heidenlarm who is a gosh darned master brewer professionally, can help @greg23 out with his ignorance.

Yea, I agree and I don't think the Bears overlook teams... I hope no pros do. But, I think they hear fan noise and fans sure seem to think games should be easy. I'd say a loss to the Jags would be a "sky is falling" moment and we'd see everyone saying how the Jags are so horrible and we shouldn't have lost. I'm not saying that's totally untrue. We are favored to win, but not by much. These narratives get a life of their own though and the fanbase turns doom and gloom.

If you really want bad warm beer stories, I had a cousin that only drank warm beer and his preferred beer was Miller Lite. I actually saw him at a party take a Miller Lite from a cooler and then run it under hot water to make it warm before he would drink it.
