i get that. but no matter what you say about his age he is still pretty good. now insert him in the kings lineup...would you want to face them in a round? i know i wouldnt.

I never said he wasnt any good. All Im saying is that at his age, his cap hit and the position he plays is that I dont
believe he's good fit for the Hawks. To me, it just doesnt make any sense to mortgage the future to get a player
that you can only keep for a few months and most importantly a guy who plays a position where you are already
loaded.

Now given the same circumstances but he was a center.....I would be thinking differently.

Dews, I disagree with Pittsburgh being unstoppable. They still have absolutely no defense. As long as Craw and Emery can get back to playing at half the level they had been before the past couple weeks and our defense works, we have enough offensive firepower to reign terror on their defense and goaltending. I'd take Anaheim over them as well. I mean, Pitt is on a good run, but so were we, all good things come to an end, and their whole season as opposed to ours, I'd take us (and Anaheim).

My bet is that he ends up in Boston.

Flames are high if they think they're going to get Malcolm Subban as part of the deal.

speaking of the Flames, I seen Kipper won't report to his new team if traded, citing family reasons.

Bob McKenzie talking on NBCSN right now. Biggest questions surrounding the Blackhawks he said was the fact that Iginla is purely a RW and Blackhawks are deep on the right side. Also said that he doesn't know if the Blackhawks will pony up for the steep price the Flames are asking (supposedly it is a top tier prospect, lesser prospect, and 1st round pick as of now).

He better do something or else another early exit could happen.

An early exit could happen either way. And either way, it will be a pretty big upset if it does indeed happen.

Call me a homer, but I don't want to rock the boat too much, especially just to make a trade. The Blackhawks are building and loading for the future beyond this year...something similar to what our neighbors to the NE have done the past 20 or so years.

I feel it is unfair to take a shot at Bowman for not trading for Iginla.

Based on the rumors, the Bruins will pay a pretty steep price for Iginla. In the neighborhood of McNeill + Clendening + 1st. On top of that, I still fail to see where Iginla would fit in on this team without moving too many parts around. Hossa and Kane are right wingers and pretty damn good ones, same goes with Iginla. Moving any of them to a new position wouldn't have been the best move this deep into the season and with only a month to go until the playoffs.

Some names out there that make sense and may be on the block include Clowe and Ott. Talking about guys who solve a lot of issues and play a position of need.

Iginla is still a solid player but he just isn't the Iginla of past. I'm sure he would have helped but at what cost and would it have been worth it? I don't feel it would have. Use those assets to trade for a player that will help the team now and in the future. Iginla is a whole lot better than Ott...but Ott would help out this team more than Iginla in my opinion because he plays a position of need.

I wouldn't say I'm glad we didn't get him, but I'm glad the Hawks didn't give up top prospects for a great but past his prime player. The way the Blackhawks minors look right now they are set for another 10-20 years of winning. I'd rather not ruin that for a player who might make the team a little better, but not really make the team GREAT.

More glad that he didn't go to the Kings than anything.

well we do need a 2c. roy is bad at it, ott isnt really a faceoff guy.at this point im disappointed. like i said earlier, if it was the kings we would have a hard time with them. im not blaming bowman for not getting him as much as im concerned he will once again wet the bed at the deadline.
