"We thank Jermon for his contributions to the Bears," Bears GM Ryan Pace said. "I have so much respect for how he carries himself on and off the field. He was a locker room leader and contributor in helping the younger players on our team grow. We wish him and his family the best as they move forward."

Today's official NFL transaction wire lists Bushrod as a terminated vested veteran with a failed physical.

If he failed a physical do we get the whole 6 mil back for cap space?

not surprising, just curious, in a year they need to rebuild the defense they are releasing offensive player. Wonder what their contingency plan is.

Field Jay and a bunch of other scrubs, then tank for a high pick next year. Not a bad plan actually.

Why would they have a contingency plan for a guy whom they knew wasn't going to play anyways? It's not like this is shocking, we all saw it coming, so I'm sure they were ready for it.

I think the Bears are going to make a splash in FA. Get multiple good young players like Trevathan and Jeff Allen that make team better but won't break bank. Re-sign Jeffery. Just not a major splash unless Von Miller is there.
