And I still don't. AllI see is reporters mentioning he stated it back in 2004 with no direct quote from Reinsdorf. Not to mention Thonus doesn't even cite that comment in his article AND ignores comments and stories from the Bulls as recently as this week.
Agree with you 100%, stated that with my first post on this thread.

Obviously the entire two guard discussion is relative and in the context of this season and this team and the present situation. Please tell me how a quote from 2004 applies.
I'm not sure what you expect? Does he have to say every year whether or not he is willing to go into the luxury tax?

It's like me saying the Bears will take a RB first overall this year based on comments by the GM, then citing a quote by Angelo in March of 2004. It completely lacks context and ignores changed situations in almost every aspect of the team and the league in general.

I see what you're saying, but there is a difference between a draft and salary. Draft prosepcts change every year, salary caps and luxury taxes don't. Apples and oranges.

Bulls fans and reporters are so desperate they've begun necro-quoting Reinsdorf from when most of this site was in braces and in the 6th grade.

I ask again why you come here?

It seems like you are up on a pedestal and we are all below you.

You asked for the proof, and I've given it to you. Apparently it's not good enough, but I found this from KC Johnson in 2009
Luckily, here's what Reinsdorf said on that topic in a conversation with Bulls beat writers last July 20: "I wouldn't mind paying the tax if it's an intelligent expenditure. When you pay the tax, you have to do it for a player that's worth it."

2004 is better than 2009...I guess....?

I'd still be interested in finding the source article since it's verbatim what Reinsdorf said in 2004 just to make sure Johnson didn't confuse a story citing that quote as a fresh quote.

Still, everything I posted above applies.

Didn't say it doesn't apply, in fact, I probably was more agreeing it did. But it does show that at some point, Reinsdorf said he'd go into the tax which is what I was trying to say.

OK? Why didn't we get a SG then and NO JJ Redick would not have been the ANSWER!

With something as large as a labor lockout looming I would say it's pretty damn important to know. Then again, he most likely won't state that at this point because there may not even be a luxury tax with the new CBA so his comments may not matter.

Except when....for example....you're dealing with a new CBA...like.....now?

Because RealGM is even more insane?

Plus cult leader Houf posts here.

Have you accepted Houf as your lord and savior?

If I was the only one saying it, it would be personal, but more and more people on the forum are seeing it this way, as I do.

That's not good enough anyways, it's from 2009.

decent pick ups for defense but offensively...NOBODY FEARS THEM!
The entire NBA fears Brewer's defense!

Of course, I, along with other posters, don't like the way you act, so we have problems.

We all disagree, and I love disagreements, but there's no need to call posts "Special person" or say they're "kiddy posts." I don't think that's why you won debator of the year.

The great and powerful houf can help you with that.

Calling a spade and spade and never said they were "kiddy posts".

I don't think that's why you won debator of the year.
No. Calling a post Special person then stating WHY it's Special person it why I won MDOY...which is what I do.

I would be shocked if you could find many posts where I simply say "that's Special person" and move on and never address it.

Ironically enough this same writer wrote an article on June 7th that said the Bulls don't want to add another high salary player because of the uncertainty of the new CBA. Which article should we believe?

Dont you think that might be because its a possibility that if we added another high salary player before we know what the CBA holds we might not be able to keep Drose??

I wish Doug was more active on here. I would wager that he would own your ass in a basketball/bulls debate
Doubtful.

I've seen the guy's writing.

What's he going to do?

ESPN Trade Machine me into submission?

That wasn't even the point behind that comment.

Did you miss that or something?

On top of that Reinsdorf and the entire NBA saw this lockout and new CBA possibly coming. If so, why would they go out and sign Boozer to that huge deal if THAT could affect how much money there is to sign Rose? Why sign that Noah extension that is back loaded with the Deng contract that already is backloaded and on the books.

How short sighted is the Bulls front office? How much confidence do you have them? How competant do you think they are?

It's not like this whole new CBA thing JUST cropped up. It was being discussed a while ago(last summer) around here and league officials have seen the possible issue coming for years...except for the Bulls apparently who JUST caught on to it in time to tighten the purse strings when looking to acquire a two guard after giving huge contracts to other players.

Come on.
