Smith and Stalberg to the IR. Pirri recalled and centering Bollands line in practice. So it appears bolland is a no go for tomorrow night at least.

Montedor skating with Scott. Healthy scratch already? if he is WOW they spent 4 mil on him.

hey he is at least mildly entertaining on twitter. there has to be value in that.

At least with Daze...it took him 7yrs in the league, before the back started going.

With Bolland, he's only played 1 full season...(contract season...hmmmmm...cue the Law and Order sound)

I realize he has good playoffs...but I think he should be moved once he shows "health". He can't be counted on at this point, unfortunately, in a position thats needed. If he was a winger - no big deal - but as a center, it's too important.

As far as Montador...if he is scratched....then kudos for Q for not 'playing a contract' and lighting a fire under his ass

It's Bollands back again. Unreal.

Pirri has been recalled. My guess Bolland to the IR.

Dave Daze or Eric Bolland?

Sucks for Bollie, hope the best, but this is a great opportunity for Pirri. If he shows he can stick, and Bollie gets healthy, we may have solved a bit of a problem.

That didn't work so well with Savard, Huet and Khabi.

I suppose you have to have a taker AL, not to mention when Bolland returned in the playoffs the Hawks almost made history. Is that the player you want to move.

Hind sight is a wonderful thing.

I don't think Bolland will ever be healthy.

Ankle, Back, Concussion.....next up - Groin Pull....and he'll land the Superfecta of injuries a hockey player doesn't want

Honorable mention for Shoulder or Knee injury.

A lot of players have good playoffs...I can rattle of a list. He can't stay healthy though and is unreliable. It's simply now - I hope he's healthy, he can't engage in physical play - because he may get hurt, every time he gets touched - it's will he hurt his back/get concussed, etc - how can a guy play like that?

Get him healthy/play a few weeks in a row....and move him. Sorry, Dave

Have to have a taker. With the injury list you just rattled off you'd have to think other teams are skeptical as well.

He's out for sure tomorrow.

Hence the reason to wait until he plays about 4-6 weeks straight...then ship him out.

The Chicago Blackhawks will begin the regular season banged up at the forward position as Dave Bolland and Ben Smith will both miss Friday night's opener against the Stars in Dallas.

Neither player will make the trip to Dallas and Bolland, who has an upper-body injury, is hopeful to play in the home opener Saturday, also against the Stars.

"We'll see how these next few days go," Bolland said following Thursday's practice. "You always wish you could stay healthy but little things can come out of nowhere. You never know what's coming for you next game or practice."

Bolland said the injury is not related to the concussion he suffered last year or the back problems the center has dealt with the last few seasons. Smith will start the season on the injury list while recovering from a concussion suffered Sept. 28. Smith did not practice Thurs

Brandon Pirri was recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League and will center a line with wingers Bryan Bickell and Michael Frolik.

Coach Joel Quenneville said it's likely the Hawks will play seven defensemen against the Stars on Friday night.

Take that with a grain of salt. Sassone was "told" it was his back. I'll go with Sassone rather than what come out of any player, or coaches mouth on injuries. They lie, or as Adam Jahns put it to me on Twitter, "hide" the real cause.

Hope Bolland doesn't have Daze-ism.

Hopefully, Pirri will play like he did in pre-season.

Daze only missed 25gms in his first 4 years...to Bolland's 108gms missed.

In Daze's 9 seasons (possible 738gms)...he played in 596gms or 81% of the games.

Seeing as he missed 142 in the 9 years, and Bolland already up to 108...seems more like it's time to rename the injury bug.

"WOAH WOAH WOW WOW WOOOOOAAAAAHHHHH, GET RID A ME? AFTA ALL I DONE FA YOUUUU!!!!!!!

This has turned into a trade Bolland, he's done thread? Not so fast, this guy would have played every single fucking game last year if it weren't for that stupid fucking elbow to his head. The injury was clearly not serious from all the interviews tonight, he said it was NOT related to his back, concussion or previous injuries. Who knows if its true but I trust the rat, as bad as that sounds. This guy IMO single handedly reminded this team what playoff hockey was about last year, he shut down the top line in the NHL, put points up and we were a goal away from history.....after already making it a year before. Bolland has had his injuries yes, but holy shit, we get rid of Bolland you better come up with some answers, cause that leaves us with one Center in the top three.....that won't get us anywhere against ANYONE.

And for you PMX, I always appreciate your stats, but here.

Playoffs:

10'- GP:22 G:8 A:8 P:16 +/-6

11'- GP:4 G:2 A:4 P:6 +/- 6

^^^^^Please present your example of a better shut down center. PLEASE. Those are numbers that people would be happy with their 1-4th wings to putting up, getting that out of your 3rd line center is unbelievable. Although I think he'll play most the year, if we make the playoffs and he provides that spark again, so be it. Also, your Daze comparison is complete BS, for real did you really have to go THERE, Daze is he who must not be named. Since Bolland has been a regular in 08-09' he's missed 63 games, I assume you tacked on the others before he was a regularly up with the big club? We all know he had the surgery, were he missed half the year in the Cup year, and then the horseshit elbow last year. Both times he came back for his team in time and was arguably the most valuable player on the ice.

there really isn't much better to me than seeing bolland line up against a sedin in the postseason. not even a reach-around from TCD.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Super Dave Bolland quickly became my favorite player. The injury sucks, but damn, I couldn't in all good consience want to trade him away. As long as he stays healthy for the playoffs I'm good with him.
