this was from either game one or two but I had to post it.
I hate to say it, but I feel whoever wins game 5 will win the series.
I could still see Boston winning game 7 in Vancouver if the don't win game 5. Don't see Vancouver winning in Boston.
The talk here is that the Canucks will focus more on getting at Thomas and making it more difficult for him including running him if the chances are there. Just to send a message to not worry about the penalties that Canuck players may get.
Good luck with that. Feeding right into the Bruins hands. As it has been pretty clear that when you try to get dirty with the Bruins they will give it back 10 fold. And who exactly is going to run Thomas? The mighty Henrik Sedin or his mega twin sister? I am sure Thomas's red Irish hair id shaking in his boots looking at the red swede mega heads.
The ever huge and scary Mason Raymond?
Kesler and his bad groin (one whack to the balls from Thomas's stick will have you out for the game).
Ohhh wait....Burrows? Thomas already showed Burrows what he will do when provoked. The Canucks blueliners are too slow to get back in the defensive play if they pinch that deep and frankly they ain't that big. Hmmmm....bet we see Torres with a game misconduct by the end of the night.
Hahahha TCD! Thanks for this... started off my Friday morning with a good laugh!
Anyways... this is why I had to switch allegiances from the Lightning once I knew the Canucks were advancing. The Bruins and the Flyers were the ONLY teams in the East that could intimidate the Canucks physically. I know a lot of you will say that hitting/physical play doesn't win hockey games but I beg to differ. The Canucks are playing scared and look timid even going into the corners to play the puck because they know there are 5 guys on the other team looking to run them into next Tuesday.
Tonight should be interesting, I expect some hometown calls like BOTH TEAMS have received in their home games and I really hope the Canucks continue on their 1-22 PP conversion ways.
I think things will get nasty again tonight and we might see another 100 PIMs, I also think this will be a 1 goal game and it's too close to predict a winner.
VANCOUVER -- Alain Vigneault could have played coy Thursday with his starting goaltender for Friday night's Game 5. Instead, he made sure to let everyone know that Roberto Luongo is still his man.
"Roberto is the guy," Vigneault said. "He's my guy, and he's playing. It's that simple."
Anticipating game 5!!!
This series has turned out to be rather fun to watch. Watching Lou melt down the last 2 games and watching the Canucks go cold has been fun. Thomas has been an amazing player to watch, the Bruins as a whole have been pretty fun to watch.
I agree with sth the first goal will be key tonight. Boston needs to get it early to take the Vancouver crowd out of the game. I think with the travel time and the physicality of the last 2 games that we may see more tired legs tonight so the energy from the fans in Vancouver will play an important role for the Canucks.
The Canucks PP will also be key as Stu mentioned. At 1 for 22 in the series obviously AV needs to adjust the PP to get it going again. Bruins just need to stick with their aggressive pk style though. Speaking of lines. I wouldn't be surprised to see AV throw some new look likes together tonight...hell will he be brave enough to break up the Sedins though? It's something that isn't talked about in Vancouver right now...but if he had any set of balls and wanted to throw a little trickery at Boston he would do it.
This is a key game for AV as a head coach. Julien is out coaching him right now just as Thomas is outplaying Lou and the Bruins as a whole are outplaying the Canucks.
