here's a pretty good list of the UFA's going into July 1st. By position (as accurate as one could find I guess).

So....mine as well start a separate thread for a basic.."who do you want to see on the Hawks and what else would you like to see"

As for me? Well we need some toughness up front now more than ever, a little more on the blueline doesn't hurt either.

We need another center

and we need another blueliner with some puck moving abilities.

Cap allowing and through respectable contract building

I of course would love to see Brad Richards (as we all would) as our #2 center.

I would be able to tolerate an Erik Cole type LW to replace Brouwer.

And on the blueline...would it be crazy to want James Wisniewski back? Maybe a little.

Just a few names to chew on and I am not praying to the hockey gods for these guys (maybe Richards a bit if it were a respectable contract). Just some ideas of the "type" of players I would like to see fall into the fold. Oh and of course I am praying to the hockey gods that somehow Andrew Ladd may fall back onto the laps of Hawks hockey fans...mine mostly...HUBBA HUBBA!!! Honestly he IS the LW that this team craves..there is no better fit out there. Jets did give him a QO..and i bet it's nice too.

I see that Tyler Kennedy on the Pens hasn't been offered a contract...so I say him, since he's affordable.

Aren't you afraid the Gestupo will have you punished because he will say this is just a duplicate of the Wish List thread?

Not me, **** that guy, remember he turned down the deal to go to Chicago when he was with Tampa, also he turned down having his right traded for Dallas could get a pick for him, **** Brad Richards.

We need a winger with size, skill, and hitting to go on the 1st line. A 2nd line center would be nice so Sharpie can play wing I heard McNeill might be the guy but I'd hate to bet the farm on unproven

I am afraid of no one but my own reflection!!!

Team has changed considerably since that thread was created. I think the new needs, the new cap space and the draft sort of changes the climate and culture of this team considerably and due to those changes a more up to date version was needed. The Hawks are now going into July 1st with completely new needs and in all positions (besides goalkeeping).

Plus I didn't notice that thread when I created this one.

Mine will be better because through out it I will be posting pictures of mine and PMX's "private times" together.

It was his idea.

1. Hejda (Plan-B: Jovo)

2. Konopka (Plan-B: Belanger)

3. Asham (Plan-B: Eager)

4. Cole (Plan-B: Jokinen)

A stay at home dman, a 4th line center that is good at the dot, a 4th line winger with an edge, and a top-6 LW.

No long term committments.

For me, Marcel Goc is the center we need. Back-up plans include John Madden, Marty Reasoner, Chad LaRose(C/W), and Jerred Smithson.

For wingers, my main choice would be Joel Ward(C/W), back-ups include Mike Grier, Chris Clark, Ethan Moreau, Pascal Dupuis, Antti Miettinen, Aaron Voros, Mike Rupp.

Defenseman, main choice is James Wisniewski, back-ups include Tomas Kaberle, Shane O'Brien, Brent Sopel.

A lot of Preds on my list.

Richards telling people he's going to the Rangers! WOO!!!!!!

As for the Blackhawks...

ASSuming McNeil isn't going to be ready for the show come puck drop of the '11-12 season... we still need a 2nd line center or one who can pose as one. Being that Richards is likely going to the Rangers, your options are really limited. I guess Laich would be your best option since Dubinksy is now staying put.

As for the 4th line... I still would want Drury over Konopka for the simple reason that Drury, while old, is still a better hockey player than Konopka.

As far as the blue line goes... go fuckin get Gilroy to be a 5-6, he'd be affordable and serviceable.

Well we got a ton of money off the books and at that rate I wouldn't mind Richards, but you guys know my stance, Brooks Laich is the guy I want. Connolly shouldn't be getting a raise IMO and at his current 4.5 I wouldn't want him, but it would be nice to have a reliable guy like him wearing the IndianHead.

Defensemen, if there is no bad blood between Seabs and Wiz, which I highly doubt but have no way of knowing, bring him back. I remember the trade dealine 3 years ago when we traded him and I was devastated.

Also Ton, get off the Preds nuts, your scaring me, even though most suggestions are solid. If Legwand ever was a Hawk I[d be very happy.

Joel Ward is available? Sign that mofo up to a contract. Pred or not that guy is a player. He would be a great addition. Someone to grind down low and crash the net, not to mention if he was on the Hawks he would stop scoring goals on us.

He is 4th line material perfection if that's where one wants to spend some money. Otherwise I wouldn't personally slot him in any top 6 forward positions. RW also I believe? Wouldn't fit anywhere but the 4th line.

I would take him as a 4th line RW anyday. Comes with good 2 way knowledge playing under the Trotz system. A system that also preaches the team game and hard work.

yah...not a bad idea at all sth. I like it.

lol. Think Lord was saying that was what he would like to see on July 1st.

Yeah because the Hawks qualified him today. And article I read says they expect him to take it. Dowell maybe gone because he wasn't qualified.

We have plenty of puck movers. Leddy, Campoli, Keith. What we need is a physical defenseman that can kill penalties. We also need a center that is good at faceoffs and PK. A second line center would be nice, but DON'T OVERPAY for one. If the right fit can't be found, get a veteran to play the 4th line.

This roster needs some physicality something fierce. Have to pick up some guys with some sandpaper/edge.

IMO, we need a guy that is physical and can move the puck. We had a physical defenseman who can PK, his name was Nick Boynton, and he sucked in our system. Same with Cullimore. We need a guy who can contribute to our flow and still play physical, IMO Wiz is a carbon copy of exactly what we need.

People seem to forget that our Cup defensive core didn't really have any big physical defenseman, but it was great at moving the puck.

What we did have was size up front and they punished opponents. That is something that we did not replace last season. While I agree it would be nice to see another physical defenseman, I think we shouldn't try and acquire that at the expense of puck moving ability -- as long as the Dman can do both I would be more than happy.

Bite me you canadian fruit, the most recent off season wish list thread was mine!!!!

As I have said, getting a 2nd line Center should be paramount...one with experience. My choice has been stated many times in many threads Brooksy Laich, great guy on and off the ice. Konopka is not an option, and I seriously do not understand the love affair so many have with him (-32, 25pts CAREER). Talbot, Handzus, Goc, Cullen Reasoner, Morin are other centers available.

I also would like to see the hawks pick up a G with experience, not rest their back-up hopes on guys that dont have much if any NHL time under their belt. Simply put the Hawks are fucked if Corey goes down.

1 more "senior" D man would be helpful too.
