talks of Andrew Burnette to chicago, at 37 not getting any younger and could benefit the Hawks with some leadership he can bring, He also did play with Q in Colorado for three seasons. We shall see.

Yeah i just posted this over at offseason wish list:

So here's an article predicting that Andrew Brunette will sign with the Hawks. He's got good hands (18 goals last year with the Wild isn't bad) isn't afaraid to go to the net and has some grit to his game. He could fit well with Toews/Kane, going to the corners, going to the net or he could play on the 2nd line with Hossa/and fill in the blank center. He could also play on the 3rd liine with Bolland and Frolik if need be. Definitely good insurance if Sharp/Morin/Bickel get hurt during the season.

I know he's 37, but if we sign him for a reasonable K for a couple of seasons, it might work out.

Nothing against Brunette but need is a forward with attitude/grit. Does he fit the bill?If not I'd rather that roster spot go to a yewt (Morin, Pirri, Smith, Hayes, Beach, McNeil ect...).

Do not want. If they are hellbent on a UFA LW then I vote for Tomas Felsichmann at 27 yrs. old. If they want a LW with even more vet experience then I vote Erik Cole---I will take his 32 over Brunette's 37 please.

Really I truly see us needing a winger to play with Kane and JT. One with size. I mean yeah we can play sharpie up there but that gives that line zero size. Anyone know what Daze is doing?

Next priority would be a true 2nd line center so sharpie can play 2nd line left wing with hoss. The 2nd line center doesn't have to be terribly big since Hoss is plays big enough

After that a 5/6th Dman unless one of the guys on the farm is ready.

Finally just fill in the 4th line with size and grit maybe a guy with the occasional scoring touch.

Since when does the 1st line need size? They are too busy scoring goals to hit anyone.

STK could be the most productive line in the NHL the last few years. I don't know the stats but I would be willing to bet they are top 5 in production when they are together.

Hossa and Sharp have never had good production together, if people have been disappointed in Bollands production with Hossa, Sharp has been even worse with more ice time.

So what you are telling me is we need to trade hoss for buff and Ladd. I hear you loud and clear Ton.

I would do that in a heart beat!

Can you imagine? Never will happen but just for shits and giggles:

Sharp/Toews/Kane

Ladd/Bolland/Frolik

Morin/(center)/Buff

Stalberg/Johnson/Smith

Talk about depth!

I'd like to see them sign Wiz. He and Seabs can go for a schvitz, and work things out. He has the tools we need. Plenty of grit and decent at both ends of the ice.

No Kaberle. I don't understand why people think he is good. He can't play defense to save his life. He doesn't score goals. The whole reason the B's traded for him was to improve their PP we saw who that worked out. 5 mil a year give me a break.

<
He wants too much money, was invisible in the playoffs, and is'nt he 109 years old

IMO, we need a guy that is physical and can move the puck. We had a physical defenseman who can PK, his name was Nick Boynton, and he sucked in our system. Same with Cullimore. We need a guy who can contribute to our flow and still play physical, IMO Wiz is a carbon copy of exactly what we need.

People seem to forget that our Cup defensive core didn't really have any big physical defenseman, but it was great at moving the puck.

What we did have was size up front and they punished opponents. That is something that we did not replace last season. While I agree it would be nice to see another physical defenseman, I think we shouldn't try and acquire that at the expense of puck moving ability -- as long as the Dman can do both I would be more than happy.

Yeah, well, I'm not talking about getting AHL quality defensemen here.... which is what Cullimore and Boynton were... The idea is not dressing guys that don't belong in the NHL.

Kaberle sucks. Like, really, really sucks. Who in the hell would pay him 5+ mil per season? Come on.

Brooks Laich got 4.5 mil per season. Told you. Overpayment too, IMO.

The more I look at the free agents, the more disappointed I am... Very, very, very few options.

If Cole can produce like last year, yes. If he produces like the prior 3 seasons, no.

Wasn't that the post concussion season when he struggled? Seems to have kicked that monkey as best as one could.

Cole would be a great fit here..replaces Brouwers physicality instantly and adds even better hands.

Much better option than Brunette. I don't buy into the cliche that this team needs a "vet leader" on it. We have an experienced core already wiser beyond their ages.

Nothing against Brunette though..never had anything against him. Just think the Hawks can do better than that.

Thought of Pavalski gives me a hockey bone.

Sharks would be out of their fucking skulls to let him walk and i think they would want something back in return other than picks (even though it's coming to the point again where they need them for the future the Heatley/Marleau/Thornton days don't have many more years to go. You would think Pavalski is part of the the Sharks future.

Think it would cost us a player like Seabrook to be honest. As the Sharks want blueline help now and it takes talent to get talent.

What makes anyone think the Sharks would trade Pavelski? And even if they did, it sure as hell wouldn't be to the Hawks.

Pages back some were talking about how they would love to see the Hawks make a trade offer for Pavalski. That's all.

Would be sweet as hell having him on the roster even though it is a very very very long shot. I don't think Pavalski is going anywhere soon.

I like hoss but I would ship him out for the right deal, mainly him for buff.

There's a lot of guys who I would love to have on the Hawks. 99% of those aren't happening. Be awesome to get a guy like Jordan Staal too. I'm just kind of disappointed that the Hawks missed the Mike Richards action....
