Looks like it's score one for the Bowmans. That deal in comparison looks sweet.

New #Blackhawk Jamal Mayers said he is a natural center and is confortable there if that's what Q wants.

Currently have the Hawks with this - I took out Smith (figuring he, Morin, Beach, Makarov all have shots at this point). No Frolik, Campoli or Stalberg. 19 players signed with $8,686,538

Who would've thought...where the Hawks were a year ago - now have this. I'm a bit stunned.

Is Handzus a 2nd line center candidate for the Hawks or does Stan look from within or trade? Sure seems like 4th line is set and D will be fine after Campoli gets his new paper.

Nevermind...Sharks just signed Handzus.

So what is the consensus on the Hawks first day of free agency? I thought it was good and addressed a need they were lacking. Gritty players for the bottom six and a player who can play on the top 6 line, albeit old can still produce. Add to that some sandpaper on the blueline and all in all a good day. Contracts are good dollar and length wise.

A center would've been nice. Otherwise, what you said.

I am going to be blunt here.

Those lines are gross. And by gross I actually mean gross. That isn't even a good looking team on paper to be honest after the 1st line.

We desperately need another center!!! Kruger? Really? And you slot the guy as a second line center after watching how horribly unready he is for the NHL level in the few games he played here last season? He isn't ready to play with a Hossa style player. Until another center is found you better slot Sharp or Bolland in that second line center spot.

I like our blueline even though I would have rather seen Campoli in there somewhere but at this point it doesn't look to be happening.

And I like what our 4th line is becoming. ?/Mayer/Carcillo. Works for me.

Brunnett you can slot down to the 3rd line also. No way his slow ass keeps up with Hossa. I like Brunnett but 2nd liner on this club? Yikes..I think we can do better. I honestly even think Bickell is a better fit with Hossa on the other side and either Bolland and Sharp in the middle.

Just my 2 bits

Speaking of 2 bits.......need I go on?

Shithead....its not "set in stone" lines. Its pretty much what they have now (Carcillo wasn't signed yet). Showing what they have left in money...and who's where. So feel free to flip players around...flip STU to his back.....do what you gotta do...But thats what they have at this time. With just under 8mil left.

Enough for...Mr. Parise.....

Centers are a hot commodity and I rather not see the Hawks overpay. It seems Mayers could be pivoting the 4th line, so we'll see Sharp as the second line center again. Not exactly optimal, but works good enough.

No one can say Sharp and Hossa don't have chemistry. Nor could anyone say that Bolland and Hossa don't have a chemistry. It's that other wing that concerns me if the Hawks can't nab a center..hell even if they can that LW is still flat. Frolik signing can help that. Bickell improving also should help (and I think he will). But question marks on that left side for me still.

Shows again just how important Sharps versatility is to this club.

Good point. We were talking about that in the chat today. As much as Sharp would probably rather play Wing he was a decent 2nd line Center.

Morin-Toews-Kane

Brunette-Sharp-Hossa

Frolik-Bolland-Bickell

Carcillo-CENTER-Mayers/Smith

Seabrook-Keith

Leddy-Hjarlmarson

Campoli-Montador

Odonnell

Scott

Crawford

Salak

23 man Roster

Id still look for a 4th line Center, or at least get Johnson back. I'd prefer Madden.

Line up looks very good to me!
