And this is what we want to invest in next year? He will end up somewhere around 17-21 when the year is over. This is smelling like Daniel Jones before his contract. It’s time to move on people. Fields would at best be top 15 next year. That’s just not good enough

Even though he has improved, statistically, I don't think his ranking among quarterbacks has moved that much from where it was coming into the year, which was probably around the 20th best quarterback.

His legs aren't nearly as dynamic as they were a year ago. It seems like every team but DET has figured out how to limit that part of his game. His biggest run all season has been 29 yards. The passing numbers have improved a bit, but the explosiveness in the run game has dropped off.

I wanted to see a more noticeable step forward in his development, but I feel like we are still kind of in the same position we were this time a year ago. Overall, he's just too inconsistent for me to trust. If it weren't for the #1 pick, I'd give him another year, but Williams is just too good of a talent for me to pass up.

21st, huh? That's not even top 20, is it? Then you think of all the crap QBs playing due to so many injuries among starters and you have to figure he'd be even far worse than 21st if not for this anomaly. Crazy, ain't it?

I think QBR is a silly, ESPN made up stat, but you’re a fan of it so…

What is more impressive - Trubisky ranking third in Total QBR in 2018 or when he was voted the first Nickelodeon Valuable Player in NFL history?

Well, if you are going to nitpick lets look at Field's QBR for the last six games that he started and finished. I'm throwing out the first Minnesota game because he wasn't able to complete so we have no idea what the final number on that would have been.

Detroit: 65.4
Minnesota: 43.7
Detroit: 71.7
Washington 75.9
Denver: 76.9

We can agree that his first three games were abysmal, we all know that. but he isn't playing at that level at this time. His numbers as of late are on par with top five passing leaders in this category. We wanted to see improvement, well that has happened for the most part. He took 13 sacks on the first three games. The five I listed he took 15. He threw four picks in the first three games. He has thrown a total of 2 since then. In fact, his TD/INT ration went rom 3/4 to 10/2 since the first three games. And that includes the Minny game I threw out because he didn't make it out of the first half.

Lets look honestly at him and then come to a conclusion. He started out awful. I'm still not completely convinced he is the QB for us moving forward, especially with the number 1 overall pick but his numbers from October on are pretty nice. I am becoming convinced that maybe he needs to play more in preseason. It seems to take him a few weeks to find his feet.

4 qb's projected in the first 7 picks.

it's a sign boyz. Poles is going to fleece somebody and it will be more than good enough in return

4 QBs just means more teams can wait instead of trading up. You need a team to think CW is much better than the other guys.

Not that this really matters… but all I see from other fan bases is comments about not wanting to be the next Panthers this year.

First off congratulations on realizing 21 comes after 20...well since it was a question maybe you don't realize that

Second, the QBR ratings are all of season starters other than Zach Wilson, Gardner Minshew and Josh Dobbs, if all three are removed and replaced with their starters QBR for the season Fields moves up 3 spots.

Sorry you are confused. And since no one has confirmed it for you yet, yes 21 does come after 20. Gold star for you today.
