That's not at all the case. There's audio being played on 670 the score from Poles talking about his process of for hiring Matt Eberflus had been long time coming even before 2022.

He knew Eberflus was the guy when he walked in the door for interview one. The audio is clear.

Stop trying to defend Poles because of one trade.

I agree, if they are saying that it is only a play by Warren to take blame off Poles to keep the heat off.

Flus was a Peter Principle hire and my fear is that Poles may be too. He’s starting to sound like a guy who conned his way into a fat paycheck.
I hope I’m wrong, but too many of these types have slithered into the Bears coaching staffs because of ownership/management incompetence….
And, George with still have final say no matter what lies they tell us…
