The Bulls are a team that would rather fail through inaction then make a bad move. I guess a bad move can hurt you more in the long run. Over valuing your players and picks rarely works out in the long run.

I guess this is why the Bulls have been in close, but not close enough mode for a few years.

Not having Derrick Rose the last several years is what made them not close enough. Couple that with a reliable 2nd and 3rd scoring option and you can see why. This year, they have all the pieces needed IMO, but they'll need to step up their defense the last 2 months here. And, obviously play well in the playoffs. There' still a lot to see here.

We don't need a shooter. This off-season was all-about getting shooters. We have shooters.

We need a defensive minded wing that is efficient enough on offense to get by(I'm sick of this, Jimmy can guard everyone all the time expectation). And we need to get that damn dedicated shooting coach, so we don't keep bringing in players that lead the league in 3FG% the season before coming here, just to cripple them, and watch them leave to another team and lead the league again. Korver/Belinelli/MDJ(hasn't left yet, but he'll be a top 5 3pt shooter when he does).

Yep, he heat checked(3pt shooters that create shots do this, it's not a freak-out moment), thibs yanked him. Then fast forward until injuries forced Thibs to play Belly, and that was his career as a Bull. I don't think he was utilized correctly, and when we needed shooting, he was on the bench anyways. Partially a Thibs problem, but also an issue with the front office trying to design a team that conflicts with Thibs. Give Tom defensive help, he will win you more games. Give him guys that are poor defensive players, then we're basically just developing rentals to leave this team and go elsewhere with improved skills. Pax trolling Thibs, plain and simple.

The only time guys are allowed to heat-check, are players that can play defense, and are PGs. That is the exception to Thibs scheme.

I agree. Thibs would throw him in because he was the next guy off the bench to come in and give whoever a rest, and Marco had to play defense, which resulted in a lot of flops. Marco couldn't play his game, because he had to play a role that didn't suit him on a team with a scheme that had no place for him. Once he got going, then he had some good games.

Which is all my point. The Bulls should be targeting square pegs to fit square holes.

How about this guy? We won't have to trade anyone or give up a draft pick. :dunno:

LOL, oh man. NOOO.

At this point in his career, Brewer's defense is trash(at least relative to any pickup that I would consider actual help). So I'll still wish for defensive help, because I don't consider Brewer in 2015 to be close to his 2010 former shell.

The other Brewer would have been perfect. That was indeed a StandPatPax moment. Corey Brewer would have been a square peg in a square hole. Too bad that ship has sailed and I really shouldn't be thinking about it anymore.

Nah. It'll start this calendar year after Thibodeau gets fired for not playing him.
You really need to stop with the Thibs getting fired shit.

Well 2 things here:
1. It doesn't sound (to me at least reading that one post) that he's advocating Thibs get fired.
2. While I don't agree with the firing of Thibs, the Bulls FO is completely within their rights to fire him if he doesn't get this team to the Finals this year.

I know he's not advocating it, he's taking the pessimistic view that the FO is going to fire Thibs, pretty much no matter what, because of the disagreements we hear in the media.

If the Bulls fall short in the playoffs, and to me that isn't the Finals, that's not getting out of the second round...I think they should fire him, especially given how things go in the NBA.

Normally I'd agree with you on the definition of 'falling short,' but with the expectations this team had I see no reason not to believe the FO is thinking Finals or bust.
