it may not seem like much but 3-4 minutes extra rest a game could do good

its not only how many total minutes either....its the allocation

he will ride players for long periods which is taxing on the body even for a well conditioned athletes

he could also cut back minutes on back to backs and take him out of the game when its a blow out

but good point about practice tho which is another element....Rip/CJ have said he has hard practices

Pau said and I quote, "I don't think we practice that hard." There you have it from the Spaniard's mouth. Butler, Noah, Rose, Dunleavy, and countless other players on the team have said the same things. KC Johnson has said a lot of the time the team just has simple drills, shooting, and film sessions the day after games. Thibs HIMSELF has commented on how it's hard to even practice AT ALL during the season. And I'm sorry I'm not taking the word of Mr. Glass aka Rip Sham-iltion over any of the people I just mentioned.

This perception of Thibs riding his players to death in practice is a fallacy.

  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
FACT: A Phil Jackson Bulls team never practiced hard.

ALSO: the idea of a 'hard practice' is subjective. Rip saying practices a hard could be the same as Keith Bogans saying it was easy.

i agree with you about Rip i mean the guy was never healthy enough to practice anyway lol

but i do wonder why he would say that and Watson also said it

why make it up if its not true? do they have a bone to pick with thibs? harder practices then they are used too?

hell maybe thibs has eased up on practices since those comments were made (he changed!!)

Exactly. But when the majority of the team is saying otherwise, as well as the beat reporters who are at said practices most days, I tend to believe them.

Also I don't think many coaches carry out hard practices during the season. I have heard that Riely was notorious for hard practices. Chuck Daly too. You don't hear about many others.

With Rip, definitely. Thibs and him did not really get along. Probably because when Rip got here he kept chirping about teaching players to be a "champion" & helping the team in any way he could, all the while complaining about his role and minutes to the media. What is it about ex-Pistons coming to this team?

As for Watson, who knows. Watson always had a lackadaisical way about him on the court so maybe it actually was hard for him.

If Allen eats into J.R's minutes I think it will be a good thing...

I am not scared of Allen anymore. As long as you don't leave him wide open, he provides no real threat offensively or defensively.

J.R can get hot from time to time and kill you.
