If Carmelo Anthony is twice the player that Gordon is, why did Gordon produce better on the offensive end?

After playing w/ the Dream team, Mello realized his overall game has to get better, he became a better, leader, rebounder and defender this season, his team was better w/ him scoring less and you have to take injuries into account, its more to basketball than just scoring, the Gordon kool-aid must have extra sugar

Simeon2UC emailed KC Johnson (presumably about if the Bulls are in any trade discussions), and KC emailed him back.

It's fairly common for the beat reporters to respond to emails and talk about stuff not in their articles like this.

I would definitely not complain about acquiring him, but I just don't know. I was watching the 95 All star game, and there were all these players like Vin Baker and Shawn Kemp who were destined to be great, but had this sudden drop off and I would not be surprised if Melo is one of those players as well, where he just decides that his had enough of basketball and beings to slack off. Only assumptions of course, but in the end if you have a chance at a star like Melo you go for it, he is a top 10 player in the league right now after all.

Vin Baker was an alcoholic & Kemp became a coke head, that's why their careers went down the toilet real quick. I don't see Melo doing any of that, but you never know for sure. This is a total rumor though & I seriously doubt KC said any of this.

Ben Gordon was a better scorer than Carmelo last year. That's indisputable.

Whether you want to argue whether Melo is better in aspects, that's fine. But someone stated Carmelo was the second best pure scorer in the league, which isn't the case, when we had a better scorer on our own team last year.

Well I emailed KC, got a response and he says he never reported such a trade rumor.

Well than that's a different case.

Not good to fabricate things that a reporter said.

Gordon is a better scorer based on what? Some stats you got off of some website? In that case, trade Gordon's ass because Salmons was a more efficient scorer than either of them.

Don't give me the better scorer, give me the better player

BG was a more efficient scorer, Melo was a more complete scorer and had greater volume.

Nuggets go the the western conference finals and you think they would deal Melo and put Bosh and Billups together instead? I highly doubt it. Nuggets fans would riot.

Chris Bosh and John Salmons would be good value. But after a team makes the WCF in their first season together, you usually don't want to break that up.

ok, the trade idea seems dumb on multiple levels.

1. why would the nuggets do it ? they'd still have kneemart and nene under big contracts and they're both PF (nene played C because they had no one else to do it). they'd have 3 PF eating most of the cap space and a big hole at SF.

2. why wouldn't the bulls just send deng, thomas and the picks for bosh straight up ? why involve the nuggets ? i think i'd rather have bosh than melo.

3. do you really want melo if he doesn't have someone like billups next to him ? he's not a leader and he needs a veteran to steer him. who's gonna do that ? kirk ? LOL.

4. do you really want melo if you have vinnie as your coach ? how does he react when melo doesn't want to come out of a game ?
