RT @Ken_Rosenthal Trade interest in #Cubs' Silva did NOT pick up even after strong last outing. Likely will be in 'pen or released. #MLB
Interesting tidbit from Rosenthal.
Never should have traded for Garza.
What does Garza have to do with Silva being bad? Again Garza will do well this year. We dont know if ANY of those prospects will turn into anything while we know Garza is a MLB SP
You are right they may not turn into anything.
The point is we don't need Garza we have six good pitchers and we only really need four.
Given the team Garza is, was, and always will be unneeded. Not to say he doesn't make us better be just doesn't make us much better.
Garza and Silva/Cashner is not that much better than Silva and Cashner. Probably one win. Two at the most n
If you honestly think Garza is not better then Silva or Cashner you need help. Garza has won 15 games 2 times in ALE. Silva has had 1 good halve in about 4 years. Cashner is an unknown. So having Garza as the number 3 instead of Wells 3, Cashner 4, Silva 5 is HUGE. Garza should prolly be one of the best number 3's in the game. Wells is a very good 4. I dont know why people still complaining over Garza deal.

LOL, where were you to back me up when they made that trade?
Pretty sure I was here.
ok ok boys.
whether or not they gave up too much for garza is not the arguement here. if the cubs did not trade for garza the rotation would be zambrano,demp,wells,silva,cash......stating that the cubs have 6 good pitchers is a bit of a stretch. that rotation is not and will never be a world series contending rotation.....you needed a guy like garza because the others are just yuck as a whole staff. sorry to burst bubbles but that rotation wouldnt do shit
and garza is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> silva

Oh, all I remember is CO and vick calling me a dumbass for not liking the trade, and everyone else liking it.
And I still like it and still will call you a dumbass.
Gave up too much, plain and simple.
Not letting this debate start again though.
When the specs make something of themselves get back to me.
It's not about them making something. They were assets that were wasted on the wrong thing.
If you own a car and you already have four tires and a fill size spare but don't have a windshield wiper would you buy another tire or a windshield wiper.
The Cubs bought a sixth tire.
