OP can always take it back by using the edit feature.

...and spread the love.

...Orgy with Kimmo, I'm first.

...no sloppy seconds for me (unless Kimmo wants it otherwise).

We just one our 3rd cup in 6 years, cementing our status as a dynasty and people are STILL COMPLAINING.

:obama:

Someone actually called into the Score last night and suggested the Hawks move Kane.
They promptly hung up on him.

Not a huge complaint, just a little put off by his "I did it, I had a great career, this is so great for me" interview after everyone else was incredibly humble.

Couple of questions:

Did anyone else who won the Cup last night have the career Kimmo has had?

Was anyone else winning the Cup for the first time also retiring immediately after?

The OP
Rundblad could choose to leave the NHL for Euro hockey where he would fit in better, but not likely...

No, nobody else on the Hawks is winning his first cup and retiring next year. And nobody else is likely at all to retire except Rozival but he doesn't seem like he wanted to from talking about it previously.

Vermette is a long time vet without a cup, but he's only 32 and still has years of hockey left to play.

Well he did do it, he did have a great career, and it is great for him so...

He was basically hidden for five minutes a game, when he wasn't scratched. Go back a couple weeks and read what people were posting about him on this very board.

Pierre didn't ask him about the team, he ask Kimmo about HIS career. KT actually had a pretty good career considering he started with Nashville at ground zero.

That's highly irrelevant. He was talking about winning a cup. It was the solidifying piece to his career. He was not great here, but he had a heck of a career.

Unbelievable, isn't it? I'm not even mad at Toews any more.

I'm gonna monitor you on this. Even in Ireland. no emailing or texting McPrawn about Toews' lack of production, leadership or Messier intagibles. I got NSA clearance on this, K?

Similar to the end of Ray Borque's career.

As my friends North of the Border are found of spouting:

"Good on him!"

Players that are at the twilight of their careers and finally winning the cup are some of the most humble beings on the earth.
We all know he was needed to chew 5-7 minutes a night, which put a heavier burden on the top 4, but oh well. Still a great veteran presence, even though the better years were long gone.
A cup was won and he'll be immortalized on it soon.
