Please don’t bring him here.

Warren is a clown. I have zero confidence that they pick the right guy

I’ve hit the point where I have no confidence in anything they ever do again. It’s “wait and see” with all moves going forward

Another reason that I hope we just got lucky with Brown. Worst thing that could happen is that Brown rallies the troops, they still don't win much due to this schedule/thin staff and they dump him. That would be so Bears.

Just reported by Rapaport on NFLN gameday. I honestly hope not. Kingsbury has a habit of fading in the second half of seasons and he doesn't move around his best WR to create advantageous situations. What's everyone's thoughts?
No as a head coach and coordinator…

Even though he can’t make a lateral move…

I'm actually hopin Brown pulls this off and we don't need to go through the HC search stuff this time. Unlikely as this deck is really stacked against him. He just lost his actual DC and his OC is nobody.

In typical Bears fashion, on their web page, Thomas Brown is listed as Interim Head Coach. As opposed to what? Real head coach? Permanent Head Coach? Nice way to tell a guy he's just a placeholder. This org just doesn't get it.
It’s common practice to refer to a guy that takes over the helm mid-season as an interim head coach.

This is not a Bears specific designation.

He doesn’t have a contract thus he’s an interim head coach. Pretty cut and dry, if he (or anyone) takes offense to that they need to grow the **** up.

Why do you say that about Warren? He's got a pretty extensive football background, supposedly wanted Flus fired last year which would have been the non-Bears and correct move, and I actually have faith in him being able to run the football side more than I ever did in all the years with Sweaty Teddy. I also think that the best GM in the building currently isn't the GM.

I’d be careful of extolling the football knowledge of any of George’s sad diversity hires. Wanting to fire Uberloss a year ago is not some genius move, realistically anyone with any sense saw all this coming when they hired him.

I want the whole staff gone and a clean break. Perhaps it ends up being a raw deal for Brown, but I don't care. Unless they look like legit contenders these last 5 weeks, I don't want anyone tied in any way to Waldron or Eberflus on this staff next year.

You don't like him because he's black?

We’ve been through this before. Kliff didn’t want to come to CHI last season, why would he want to now, even as a HC?

I like Kliff but there needs to be a lot checked out on him about his past (especially his time as HC of the Cardinals) that i would never be able to find out the real truth about but our front office should be able to before i really had him on my list, or at least the top of it. Can't remember who it was i was listening to but i remember hearing that the Arizona media said his time there ended up turning into a total mess. Can't remember hearing them say exactly what kind of mess it was but that needs to be checked out by our guys to find out if true or just the Arizona media making things sound worse then they really were just like Chicago's media and really any teams media.

So a name i've heard a couple of times now is Notre Dame HC Marcus Freeman. I'm a huge fan of his but bringing in a college coach is a huge chance to take. If there was any college HC i'd like it would be Dan Lanning (Oregon HC).

Good chance he didn't want to coach under Eberflus because there was no security. It was the same reason the Bears could never find an OC under Lovie. He was always viewed as on the hot seat

This is what I’ve read. He didn’t want the job.

So basically rapsheet is just listing off a top candidate with no actual factual backing.
Well that's what everyone is doing right now. Nobody has any facts outside of the Bears 4/5 guys in the front office.

Brown is a McVay guy. Poles convinced him to come here not Waldron.

Is there much difference in the resumes of Coen, Robinson, or Brown?

He and Ben Johnson are both 38. Apparently, Ben doesn’t really command a room.

That would not be ideal.

My point is, I’m not throwing out Brown because he’s been associated with Waldron.

I’m curious what the next 5 games show us. I have a completely open mind.

I'm really rooting for TB to take the permanent role as well but a little worried if he'll be able to attract the bigger/better names for OC/DC and the rest of the staff. I really like him though and think i still have Vrabel as HC and TB as OC as my top option right now. I just don't want to lose TB no matter what direction we go at HC.
