Beas was never any good (is putting up 19 pts on a 15 win team all that impressive?) but either way you want to argue it doesn't matter much really
we don't want Cleveland to even have the possibility Larry turns it around....neither of us can't sit here and say decisively either way on how it would go...but we're better off with them having zero possibility at all
plus his salary would be so small they could just cut his ass if he causes problems....but if he works out he totally changes their defense....low risk/huge reward type deal
Beaseley was the best scorer in college by a WIDE margin his Freshman year, so YES, Beaseley was good. It's why he was the #2 pick. Talented scorers like him find a place in this league, even if they are a tweener. Motivation and maturity were always what held him back, not talent. Unfortunately he's never grown up but I digress.
As for Sanders, I'm just tired of everyone ALWAYS assuming that ANY PLAYER released is going to the Cavs. I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying the Cavs would be weary in adding a volatile, young player who was just suspended from the league for substance abuse & will be an OBVIOUS distraction for a team already under a big spotlight.
I agree that we don't want the Cavs adding players for cheap but people seem to be using JR Smith as an example in this situation. He's not. JR just so happens to be CLOSE FRIENDS with Lebron. THAT is why they took a flyer out on him in that deal, on top of the fact that he's a PROVEN talent in the league. Sanders had 1 good season & got a contract. Outside of that, he's done absolutely nothing but flash some potential and smoke a lot of weed.
But hey, who knows. We'll find out in a few weeks I guess.
