nailed it..RealGM is reporting he's already committed to signing with Dallas as soon as he can

Pretty much the consensus. Dallas has no big men outside of Chandler & Dirk. Stat can get decent minutes there if his knees can hold up. It's a solid pickup.

I suspect that this was worked out before the release happened. It would not surprise me at all if the agent did not go to the Knicks with the idea knowing a team, Dallas Maybe, was looking to add him.

If Stat goes to a playoff team and plays well it raises his value and that gets the agent and Stat more money.

Good deal considering they're only going to pay him the veteran's minimum.

LOL I love how they are playing up that there's "A LOT" of teams interested in Haywood. Yea right. I'm sure the other 29 teams are clamoring to get their hands on a his expiring contract. The only thing they will get for him is a 2nd round pick for a couple years down the road.

But regardless, they are getting Sanders now so like everyone has said, SEASON IS OVER!!!! :kermit::kermit::kermit:

I know, right?

Plus, only a team under the cap can absorb his contract i.e. Sixers or Celtics but what "value" will you get in return for that? Not much, that's for sure. It would be a move to shed his roster spot so they can get Sanders and still keep a place open for Ray Allen, when he decides to join the team next week.
