Yikes, that seems so little, but at the same time that's what we got for fraser or someone last year wasn't it? Burish? Can't remember, guess that means he wasn't resigning anyway? I would imagine this is part of the deal with Campbell as he told Dale he would take his talents to Florida but would need someone to carry his bags.

Seems like they have a clear plan going forward. I like it. And I love our depth of prospects coming up. It is going to be an interesting week.

Might as well get something in exchange of a contract that they didn't want to renew.

For what he'll be asking it ain't worth it. I am sure Bowman is well aware of the physicality aspect of the team and will address it once free agency starts.

I would assume that the negotiations did not go well. From what I was told the Hawks wanted him back, maybe the price was too high. We'll find out after he signs, my guess is that he's asking for more than $2.5M otherwise they would have kept him.

I told you yesterday they had no intentions of bringing him back.

Thank god! I did not like him, though he was over rated. Good move. Lets hope Tallon is busy with these guys were letting go and not attack the free agency on july 1st. Something tells me this has Stan Senior written all over it. Youth and skill with alot of draft picks and to top the cherry july first some muscle.

They were pretty clear the three returning would be Frolik, Campoli and possibly Stalberg from the start. Kopecky was going to want too much money and they have slots, with players that need shots. IE Morin, Smith and possibly Beach, although I think even Beach is a stretch unless he's pulled his head out of his ass over the summer.

I don't like the 'rebuild' direction it appears we're heading down. When you win the cup, you patch and replace, not overhaul. Kopecky was a steal at $1M per. If he was asking for $2.5M and up then yeah I would part with him too - too expensive at that number. But stockpiling picks? Ugh! Would rather we traded for veterans. Most picks are just nothing more than prospects anyhow and who knows how they'll pan out.

He was alright when he was able to be played as what he was, a bottom 6 forward. This season he had so many blown opportunities when he played on the top 2 lines. I don't know where the Panthers are going to play him or in what role, but he if he was struggling putting away scoring chances given to him on a silver platter by players like Kane and Toews, I don't how the hell he will do playing with that Panthers team.

You can't trade for veterans. At some point you ahve to get the talent you have a shot or they will get pissed off and bolt. It's called using your system. It's worked very well up to this point. Last year they lost 11 players. This year so far 3 that might have had a roster spot.

Talent not named Crawford will not stay in Rockford for ever without leaving. Kopecky held up a spot for a REAL 4th liner, which he was not.

Championship teams build aroudn the CORE. Which is exactly what they are doing. Kopecky, Brouwer, were not part of the core.

also makes you wonder if someone will tap Tallon on the shoulder and say 'enough already'. Seems like he's trying to build Blackhawks #2 in Florida. This is where you want your GM to have a clean break from his old club. Too many strings here still seem to be attached by Tallon to Chicago.
