also makes you wonder if someone will tap Tallon on the shoulder and say 'enough already'. Seems like he's trying to build Blackhawks #2 in Florida. This is where you want your GM to have a clean break from his old club. Too many strings here still seem to be attached by Tallon to Chicago.

Disagree Tallon is bringing in Veterans that have won a cup or cups so they know what it takes. A lot of those guys, from what I gather, liked working for Tallon so it makes sense for him to sign him, he's getting loyal players that are veterans also he does have a cap floor to hit so he can afford to pay guys like Kopecky more than they are realistically worth.

That's still a lot of changes though. And for every Crawford you develop, you end up with lots of Skilles, Dowells, and Stahlbergs. You have to balance your core with some proven vets. Otherwise it appears to just be a crap shoot each year waiting for your kids to show you if they have anything.

Yeah but those vets can be acquired via free agency and we dont give up youth for them. I was never really a fan of Kopecky so I'm not heartbroken he left. Going to be an interesting Friday. Already told the boss I'm going to be plugged into the hockey world, he said as long as your work is done I really don't care. Nice working for a hockey fan.

Meh, doesn't really matter to me anymore. I'm sure he was asking for too much anyway.

We are charmin soft now, need to pick up some physical players or we'll have trouble next year. Upwards of 350+ hits gone now. I can care less about Dowell but Kopecky and Brouwer leaving hurts us if they are not replaced.

I agree but lets wait and see what comes back as well. So far we need an entire new 4th line. You should get some hits there. Not to mention I don't see Morin NOT throwing his body around, nor Smith for that matter.

So far we have

Sharp-Toews-Kane

Morin-Center-Hossa

Frolik-Bolland-Bickell

And then the 4th line which unless Stalberg is there will be brand new. Hopefully they find some grit. They have money which is the good thing.

We need some grit now. Already have 9 guys with a Cup, and 5 Allstars

Wow I am a bit surprised that the Hawks let Kopecky go. Thought he was a good fit here the last couple years. Sort of upset by losing his depth help and again another player than can be slotted through the lines if needed. Super star goal scorer in Kopecky? Of course not. Replaceable? More than likely. But thought he was well liked through the dressing room (at least I got that sense) and I liked his character to be honest. Good for Dale.

Keep losing these depth character guys that I like. Brouwer now Kopecky this year. Last year my boy Ladd, Steeg, Eager, Buffy.

And yah like many have said we keep getting softer and softer as we go. Hawks must have some things in mind for July 1st. It's going to be a new look team next year even more. That's not a bad thing. But if I have to see Pissani instead of Kopecky..TCD BE MAD!!!

Personally would rather see Sharpie on the 2nd line and a power forward similar to Iggy as LW. Skill and size combo up with them, JT is good in front of the net but we can get someone better so he can hang in the slot and bury'em

either way Kopecky and or Brouwer were not that power forward.

No sir they were not. I won't lie I'm happy both are gone, never really cared for either one. An out of the question idea but a perfect fit would be Buff. Well at least playoff Buff.

Just an observation: I don't how many times last year, in particular, the Hawks would have the puck in the offensive zone and it would get moved around only to set up Kopecky for the snipe. (Riiiiiiight. That'll work REAL well...) This happened a bazillion times, and with Hossa on the ice at the time, quite often. I kept wondering to myself,"Who are they trying to fool with this shit? They keep going back to this guy." It was like our offense went into one-trick pony mode when he was on the ice and our true snipers were the decoys. Fucking mind-boggling. I can honestly say I don't recall even one occasion where he actually buried the biscuit in this capacity, either. I honestly don't intend this as a slam to the guy, but it seemed to me then and it seems to me now, that the argument for keeping him being based upon his willingness to battle in front of the net is easily offset by the BIZARRE flow the offense had when he was on the ice. I'm not sure you could accurately call it 'flow', unless one uses the word in its other meaning---as in sewage. By the way, if Kopy was the sniper, then who the **** was in front of the net then? See my point?

I respect ToKo for his scrappy grit, effort and attitude. Fact is, he didn't exactly fit well for reason of insufficient skill level in reading or creating the play. I actually saw him as a momentum killer who meant well and tried real hard. I wish him well in Florida most definitely, but am looking forward to a different FLOW to our game this coming season. I would love to have the fourth line filled with guys who also lighten things up off the ice. Never cared for Burish as a player but the guy definitely kept things positive off the ice. When he was hurt all his last year I don't think the situation could of been any better, his most positive role was the only one being filled. Also Versteeg, Wiz, seemed like a lot of the looseness around the locker room the year we won the cup had vanished last year. Its cool for older teams like the Wings but our team is still very young.

WORD!

Holy shit---talk about an overpayment. But with FLA's situation with needing to reach the cap floor this kind of insane bullshit will happen when a team's gotta spend $30 mil in order to be cap compliant. WTF though Dale? Four years? That length was seriously unnecessary for freakin' Kopecky.

This is the intelligent, well-thought out reply to my post. lol. Next time I'll check the format before hitting send, as this was not how it looked when I typed it, although I suspect this isn't what the criticism is based on. Tell you what pmxc12873 R2D2 C3PO, I'll type more slowly for you next time.
