I agree that I think the plan is to go with Kruger with the Hawks...it's his job to lose.

With the extra money, they'll sign better 3rd/4th line depth players and a Dman - and keep a few million in the bank - if they need to trade/acquire someone during the season. A luxury that they haven't had the last several years.

It'll allow them to pull different players up from Rockford as well - without worrying as much with how much they make...or "sending" guys up/down to save a few bucks here and there.

Scooter and Co. have their plan...it'll be new/interesting for sure.

Or maybe it's actually true that the Hawks are losing money and they are going with a budget roster this year. While the core is good, it barely squeaked into the playoffs (granted a win in the last game would have made them 5th or something) with a bunch of scrubs as the supporting cast. If Scooter can't get any quality support and they are going with rooks, what makes the team different from this year. In fact it could be even worse with the departure of Soupy, Brouwer and Kopecky. It all hinges on the core having good years and Leddy, Campoli and Hammer having breakout seasons if they are to be formidable next season.

Just putting this out there. Am I being a chicken little, should I trust that Bowman knows what he is doing? The UFA crop is awfully thin and it will cost a lot to get anyone decent with these ridiculous amounts being paid to marginal talent. Will Scooter trade some of the prospects in the pipeline to get a legit player, such as Dubinsky?

Really I think you have to give all the cup winning hawks a pass last season. I mean Keith admitted his heart just wasn't into the regular season. I'm willing to bet that if Keith said it the whole team was feeling it. Factor in that some of the new comers didn't exactly work out and get going didn't help matters. I mean a lot of people I talk to weren't happy with Hammer and I just simply chalked it up to a bad year.

Also I really think that if we'd beat vancouver the hawks would have been in the finals against Boston and honestly I have no idea who would have won that contest and it would have been a great series.

I'm sorry, but that's BS. Especially with a new K. Hope he feels like playing this year.

Keith did not mention the elbow. I don't know if he mentioned heart either. He mentioned the long season, the desire to play, the lack of time off, ect ect.

No one said anythin about the proceedure on his elbow after the season. That most certainly explains some of or lack there of point.

Which elbow was it? I remember discussing his shot looking off in chat a couple nights.

RK: so, his elbow was bothering him all season long?

I mean, he seemed to have problems all year--moreso than any of our other guys.

Either way, I just hope he gets fixed up in all respects and comes out like the stud we know him to be.

I don't see it that way, but what ever. There were a LOT of circumstances in why that "core group" appeared off last season.

That said if they were "healthy" heading into the playoffs I'm not sure the same outcome happens. THat's the positive thing in all of this. 11 players left last year, this year, three have left.

No he DID in fact admit to it

I'm not saying that what you're saying is BS, I'm saying if a player isn't giving 100%, it's BS. Sorry about the ambiguous post. Now if he was injured while playing, that's a different story.

I think the entire interview with him was a little strange. I think he was burnt out and playing not 100%.

If they are, then Mc Fucksticklicker has to go. How they could be losing money after he's whored just about everything out?

If they are losing money, then maybe he should look how he is over paying staff members to stay.

They were cooking something more potent back there than books if they think any of us STH's believe they lost ANY money.

Well if I knew they were in such dire straits I'd have tucked an extra $100 in my STH renewal envelope.

Rocky would have sent you a very nice thank you note and an invite to sit next him at a game and to top it off a formal introduction and thank you from the new CEO

Yeah, for a hundred bucks you'd probably get an old letter signed by Captain Adrian Aucoin.

Or a game-worn Babchuk jersey.
