Sox tickets are kind of expensive, as is parking, BUT you can get pretty cheap seats on Stubhub and take the CTA (Sox-35th Red, 35th Green, Buses, etc) which is a lot cheaper especially on the subway since you can lift small children over the turn style or just carry them.

take the Pace bus if you're near Oak Lawn to the game. $8 ($4 each way) both ways.

Going to maybe a few more games in July & August.

MLB Ticket Prices, Baseball Ticket Price Rankings | SeatGeek

8th highest tic prices and 11th highest payroll seems fair, until you look at the actual face value pricing on WS.com site. For one, they need to have more value games available on weeknights. The kids may be out of school, but that's still a late night for anyone coming from the suburbs.

I think the blue collar thing is kind of true. And the fact that it's not in a great neighborhood puts off those protective parents.

It's not that their performance on the field isn't good enough for the fans. The location, prices, and the type of people the fans are is the reason that the attendance is low.

good. sell sell sell please sell!

Pierzynski is having a great season, but I think his salary will probably scare teams away.

Rios will probably be unlikely to move.

Floyd is movable but we won't get another starter in return, so, whats the point of that? Ditto Humber.

All that's left if bullpen guys. But no one is going to trade for Ohman, they're likely to wait for him to be on waivers/DFA. Ditto Stewart.

Thornton isn't what he used to be (which makes me sad, but he's getting old), I don't know what we'd get for an aging, declining, but still solid, reliever who's getting paid 5.5 million.

Whats left? Crain, Jones, Santiago, Reed, Axelrod? Why get rid of young players under contract.

Since we've acquired Rios, I've only heard him rumored to be moved twice.

Last year to Milwaukee for Matt Gamal and in that Rios-Lincicum trade in that thread.

True. I see your point there, and teams like Tampa Bay and even Cleveland seem to get along just fine, but seriously it would be nice to see some support either way, but he shouldn't use attending games as a threat.

Prob is they raised prices on everything after 05, now that the 05 magic is gone things went back to the way it's always been. Sox raised ticket prices in 06 and 07 pretty much a no no in sports to raise prices two years in a row..I would love to go but Iam in Utah.

Oh well I appreciate your dedication, following the team even when you live a good 18-20 hours away (driving), but yeah I hear you, the tickets on the White Sox official page are ridiculous, that's why I go onto StubHub and buy there, tickets are a steal compared to the actual pricing system the Sox have.

what some of you dont get and understand that this is a business. Again JR wants to break even since this is his hobby, maybe his forcast has him in the negative maybe it doesnt, i dont know.

But for people to think that KW is an idiot for this is a bit much. This is a business PR move. The majority of fans of any sport are surface fans, they know the players and basic stat lines and yell "go team". This is fact. KW is preaching to the majority of the fans in the demographic, the minority of the fans are like me and a few other people here that look and understand baseball much deeper than the surace. KW is merely saying this because he knows those surface fans will be the ones that bite. Heres the fact: KW can make moves without taking on salary, that is fact. Deeper fans know this, as the surface fans do not. He is saying this to get more people to the ball park....plain and simple.

Thats kind of a dangerous game to play. KW is essentially saying that the fans run the team and personnel decisions are based on fan attendance. Its usually a bad idea to place blame/responsibility on the fans for any reason. They don't really like that.

in a way it kinda is. this is a business. now blaming fans in the way he does it is bad, especially with our fan base. we get pissed off quick
