One may want to ask a question in regards to this story.

If the organization felt that Kyle was not living up to his expectations then why did they make a one year offer to him during the offseason?

And a one year contract with more guarantees and income then the previous?

Maybe to light a fire under his ass about them giving him one more chance and that they wanted to see him reach his potential and believed he could? It seems he came into the season in great shape. What happened from there who knows.

They possibly wanted him to go to the SHL where fighting and being a pest isn't as big as the AHL. Europe's game is so much faster and focuses on more skill than physicality that it could be a benefit for him to focus on that area of his game. It certainly helped Bickell out. Or Beach can resort to his old ways and have a career lined up for the LNAH where fighting and being a prick is encouraged and playing hockey less important.

I hope it does focus him. He has such a great upside potential. Big power forward type. Id like for him to reach that potential.

Then get traded.

It's easy for the Hawks to invest money in a guy like Beach, if for no other reason than at this point he's an AHL veteran, and with guys like Morin, Hayes, Nordstron, LeBlanc and Pirri most likely shuttling up and down the Tollway, he could be a mainstay in the lineup while others like McNeill and Danault are learning the pro game. They can afford him.

But unless he suddenly becomes a special player in Sweden or Rockford, he'll never get a stall in the United Center clubhouse.

I doubt the Hawks have given up on Beach. They seem to take a longer route for him since they obviously see something lacking in his game. Perhaps it's the skill side and that's why they are letting him go to the SHL. Playing in Europe can often be a good thing for a players development, even older players can get a boost. Brian Campbell has many times said that playing in Finland during the lockout really helped him and he was soon after paid premium money for his services.

Would be nice to get some assets back for a first round pick for sure. Right now he's well behind on the Hawks depth chart.

I never said he didn't. Just tossing in a theory.

Don't ever let him hear you say that...

We actually discussed Beach with Block at some length last night. He's not a bad guy, but he always resorts to the on-ice antics that his game really doesn't require. And yes, the prevailing opinion seems to be that sending Beach to Sweden will make him focus on the non-antic parts of his game. He's fallen pretty far down the organizational chart, and most likely his status as a first-round pick is why he's still in this organization - and it's not just him, guys like Kevin Hayes and Dylan Olsen will also get a much longer look.

My belief (for what it's worth) is that if he ever gets an chance to play at the NHL level, it will be elsewhere.

But he's one of the few that watch and report on the Hogs from actually being there. I guess I could have worded that different. I don't think he's a very good "Hawk" source more than any of us that are at every game.

And I said that last year as well. Unfortunately for Beach he's been passed on the depth scale. By more than one forward. Partially by his doing and partially by the serious injury he went through.

Shouldn't be any distractions from concentrating on hockey for a guy his age.

Beach has played 3 games, got 1 assist, -6 and 4 PIM. But HV71 is just awful and is last in the SHL.

He's also credentialled in Rockford, so he has access to both management and players. If he had creds for the Hawks, he'd probably be the best Hawks writer in the business. Right up until his creds get pulled for not toeing the company line.

My favorite teams
 1. Chicago White Sox
 1. Chicago Fire
 1. Chicago Bears
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
Perhaps this could be moved out of "Hawk Talk" considering he'll never be one.

The LNAH requires players to be from Quebec or to have played junior hockey in Quebec.

Beach just tweeted that his time in Europe is over and his run in the SHL is over.

He also got a game misconduct in his last game.
