By the time his rookie deal is done, he'll be starting at left tackle and the team will owe him a HUGE payday. It will also suck for him a little bit because the team has an option on him in 2018.

In any case, he played pretty well at tackle today. If you consider the fact that he's got less than a handful of starts at tackle under his belt, then he's played amazing.

Hopefully Fox and company do the smart thing and move him to left tackle at the start of training camp next year.

Maybe. He certainly is capable but I think the line looks better with him on the right at the moment. I don't think Bushrod is a RT and Leno looks better on the left. It's not just about Long and best 5 right now has him where he is. If we get or someone develops into a VG RT, he should move.

Shout out to those who said you can't just move Long to OT and that you would be weakening 2 spots.

That would be 95% of the board.

Shout out to those who knew he was an awful back up LT in college who would probably be sitting at home going over his DFS line up's if not for an injury that pushed him into the Guard position where he didn't suck...

That's why those people are sitting at home playing fantasy football and not in the NFL.

Thanks uncle Phil

Yeah I'm not proposing moving Kyle this year. Leave him where he is (unless you need to move him again due to injury). It is my belief that Tayo Fabuluje is the long-term answer at right tackle.

ND is horrible.
Kyle Long has exceeded my expectations, and I love it.

Definitely going to end up being a LT sooner rather than later imho.

The franchise is definitely looking up, just gotta be patient. Let's see how Grassu progresses....just keep adding pieces for the long run and cutting out the fat.

I think Grasu's big improvement will be next season. I believe he'll get a lot stronger in the off-season (and he needs it).

He's not even NFL average yet at T. Might want to hold off on patting yourself on the back just yet.

My word, Long stuck on Houston like stink on shit. He may have been the MVP of this game. The way Leno has fared over the last 2 games I'm not ready to cast him aside yet. Leno does not have the physicality you want from your RT so if he continues to keep it up and develop we might be best leaving him right there. Many teams bring their best rusher from the right side anyways just like the Chiefs did.

Who was claiming he was one of the best OTs in the NFL (besides Big Cat Williams and Pat Mannelly on the radio after the game, I think who it was)? And did he weaken the RT spot, leave the RT the same or make it better?

If you say made the position better, then my statement still stands.

Your reply doesn't even make sense. I was just pointing out that most people who were sceptical of moving him to tackle knew he played it in college and sucked at it. Most of you who were jerking off over moving Long to Tackle were the same ones who hated us picking Long but LOVED Bostic...

But you are welcome.

Sincerely Uncle Phil ...

The people in favor of him moving to T knew that he had the size, strength, and athleticism to do it, and also knew that Emery even said that his future could be at tackle. The only knock was inexperience, but he had all the measurables for a tackle. And I don't know about your second statement about Bostic, but it's a non-sequitur, so whatever.
