I enjoy her work but Kylie Minogue would be a terrible choice for football. One hit and she'd be severely hurt. I really don't understand America's obsession with celebrities being placed into jobs they have no business being in.
I see what you did there.

  1. New York Knicks
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. New York Rangers
  1. Syracuse Orange
I don't see the Falcons having any interest in trading Tyler Allgeier but he would be the perfect RB to split carries with Swift.

Personally see no reason at this point to be trading for RB help. Monangai may be the next allgeier or kyren williams. Both those guys went in the 5th in what was then deemed a mediocre RB class. Now there are a lot of good backs that have come out of it.

If roschon/monangai look like crap maybe trade for a guy at the deadline if the team is rolling, but I'd rather give them both reps and then sign one of these guys people keep bringing up about trading for next year as FA's(Kenneth Walker, Breece Hall, Algeier, James Cook, Pachecho, etc).

I don't understand that comment. You don't think Johnson loved how Gibbs could take it to the house on almost any play? Johnson loves big plays and those come from speed.
Of course Johnson loved Gibbs big play capabilities but it is not needed in his offense and he has proven that. Johnson still succeeded with Swift and Williams as his RBs.

Behind our 'new' O-line Swift will perform similarly to Gibbs.
I would not go that far, Gibbs was a perfect fit for Johnson in Detroit, and that was with one of the best OL's in the league. Swift will be solid though.

I think Burden will be the guy who Johnson gets the ball to with a chance to take it to the house. I expect end-arounds, pitches, and screens designed for Burden.

I love this guy from Rutgers. He would be a late round steal. Looks alot like Montgomery with his vision, balance, and tackle breading ability

Big Bert here. I'm not good at reading a whole lot so I didn't read the rest of the comments in here. But mark my words, this guy isn't gonna sniff playing time. Wasted pick on a needed position.

Poles is a doofus.

Disagree here. How can a 7th rounder be a wasted pick?

Bo Jackson?
Shannon Sharpe?

Brother Washington here, brother.

Let's not forget the likes of Richard Dent who was an 8th round pick. Some GMs actually find some gems outside of the 1st and 2nd round and others, not so much.

Ignoring that any HoF found that late is the exception, not the rule, I think people also forget that back then there were also fewer teams and no compensatory picks back then. So, later round picks would be the equivalent a round or two higher in modern drafts.

For example, Dent was overall pick #203 in 1983 and yes, that was early in the 8th round. In 2025, the overall pick #203 was middle to end of the 6th round.

The 1983 draft was just a hell of a year for the Bears in general. They also drafted HOF OT Jimbo Covert at #6 overall that year. I am not sure how many teams can say they drafted 2 HOF players in the same draft.

Bo Jackson was the #1 overall pick in 1986....

He refused to play for the Buccaneers, brother!

He was drafted in the 7th by the Raiders. I see your point though, brother. Hopefully, you see mine? Maybe not.

I just think Bo Jackson is a really horrible example to use as a '7th round' pick that succeeded. There was no question on his talent, hence why he initially went #1 overall.

I agree with the idea that you would like to see Poles get better at finding some day 3 contributors. I think right now you can reasonably argue that he found 2 solid players in Braxton Jones and Terrell Smith, both in the 5th round. The punter in the 4th is a starter, but that is a given considering he spent a 4th on a punter.

I also think because he screwed up the initial coaching hire with Eberflus that his chances of hitting on a day 3 pick went down because Eberflus and his coaching staff did not appear to know how to develop players.

Time will tell if things get better now with a new coaching staff hopefully giving better evaluation input and also just better coaching if they can find some day 3 gems.

Elijah hicks looks to be a good backup too, which is great for a 7th rounder.

I have hopes for austin booker too.

As you noted, the late round picks are all those for a reason...they aren't NFL level players yet. Some of them might have tools but just arent good football players. They need coaching and development and last year pretty much no player improved from the prior year outside of maybe dexter.

Why i love the pick of that tall fast corner, al harris should get the best out of him even if thats just backup depth/special teams.

Don't get me wrong there have been some good and even great players taken in the 7th round, and I hope Monangai can be one of them. It is just that they are few and far between.
