lol, that's dumb. Boozer's been an all-star twice...Battier's had a nice career. Luol Deng was the 2nd best player on the best regular season team in the nBA this season. Jay Williams and Elton Brand had promising careers sidelined by injuries. And they've got the soon to be #1 overall pick in the draft. Grant Hill's a former Dukie, too. Comparing the NBA Quality of Duke players to the NBA Quality of other college programs is just silly...they're their own ppl after college.
I'm not saying that they're all bad or something. I'm saying that most will not be like Boozer or Deng or Grant Hill. And even those that were good have pretty much all been injury prone. Idk why that is, but that's just how it's worked out. Let's look at all the Duke players in the game right now.
Boozer-He's pretty good when his head's in the game
Deng-Another pretty good player
Brand-Awesome before he got injured
Hill-Same as Brand, but better
Chris Duhon-Bench player. Can't really shoot, but solid backup pg material
JJ Redick-One dimensional bench player. Defense has improved a bit, but not great.
Shane Battier-I'll call him a no stat all star. He's an awesome defender and a pretty darn good 3pt shooter most of the time.
Dunleavy-Bench player. Darn good shooter though.
Dahntay Jones-Bench player
Maggette-Kind of a ball hog. Borderline starter/bench player
Josh McRoberts-Bench player
Sheldon Williams-Bench player
So maybe I exaggerated when I said 90% of them are white or bench players, but at the end of the day, that's what a lot of them were. With that said, I don't care how good Singler was at Duke because he's going to be like JJ Redick or Mike Dunleavy. Guys who can shoot a bit and do some other things well, but at best is a bench player on a good team.
