Kyle Singler (Duke)6'8, SF/PF, 230 lbs.I thought I would post this to give you a case of "Duke-itis." In all seriousness, Kyle Singler has been a very productive Dukie throughout his career. Kyle excelled at Duke as a role player...

He'll go to Indiana. Bird loves his white guys that overachieved in college.

Posting it here means that someone is putting him as a possibility of the Bulls drafting him.

And for the record I don't mind Indiana.

Fair enough...your post was made after I made a comment about Indiana going after him, and I know there's a lot of Pacer fans on here. I also don't mind the Pacers when we're not playing them. I don't think he fits what this Bulls team needs, tho. If we go after a Duke player in the draft, it should be Nolan Smith.

Yeah. Indy is my second "home" team out of three (Other being Milwaukee), and if they draft him, they would get a really good player, but that's about it.

Nolan Smith isn't the typical Dookie. I wouldn't mind drafting him though. He's a freshman, right? (could be mistaken), but assuming he is, he hasn't been there long enough for the "Dookness", to set in.

Nolan graduated...started 4 seasons I believe...def the last 3. He's a combo guard, could play alongside Rose or as a back-up. He can create his own shot, and has a semi-accurate 3ptr. He was the team's leading scorer last season, and was the 3rd leading scorer two seasons ago (less than one ppg behind leading scorer Jon Scheyer). I think he's going to be a good pro. Not a starting PG on a title-contending team, but a good "piece of the puzzle" that I think the Bulls could use.

Well scratch what I said about the Dookness. It's set in fully. I was thinking of Kyrie Irving. Had the two confused.

Kyle Singlar wont be in the NBA in 5 yrs IMO. He doesn't shoot the ball well enough to make up for his terrible athleticism. Singlar makes Mike Dunleavy look like Usain Bolt.

meh, I think Singler and Dunleavy are pretty comparable. Singler's taller so he can get off more shots, but he's def. gonna be a role player on the bench. He can create a little...but he'll struggle in the NBA. One of his biggest assets in college was he was tall enough to play the 4, which often made up for his lack of athleticism. He's going to struggle being tall enough to play the 4 and/or quick enough to play/guard the 3 in the association, imo.

Singlar cant shoot very well if he doesnt learn to shot the NBA 3 he has no chance. Dunleavy is much better there Dunleavy is a better play maker Singlar is tougher and hustles more IMO. But Dunleavy sucks IMO and he is much better than Singlar will ever be he will be playing in Europe in 5 yrs IMO.

Do not want.

This. Plus I highly doubt Chicago will draft him. He more than likely not at the top of their list. If they draft him, well, then it looks like I'd stand corrected

If it's one thing we know about Duke it's that 90% of their players will be either white or bench players in the NBA (and sometimes both). I do not want Singler at all.

lol, that's dumb. Boozer's been an all-star twice...Battier's had a nice career. Luol Deng was the 2nd best player on the best regular season team in the nBA this season. Jay Williams and Elton Brand had promising careers sidelined by injuries. And they've got the soon to be #1 overall pick in the draft. Grant Hill's a former Dukie, too. Comparing the NBA Quality of Duke players to the NBA Quality of other college programs is just silly...they're their own ppl after college.

I'm not saying that they're all bad or something. I'm saying that most will not be like Boozer or Deng or Grant Hill. And even those that were good have pretty much all been injury prone. Idk why that is, but that's just how it's worked out. Let's look at all the Duke players in the game right now.

Boozer-He's pretty good when his head's in the game
Deng-Another pretty good player
Brand-Awesome before he got injured
Hill-Same as Brand, but better
Chris Duhon-Bench player. Can't really shoot, but solid backup pg material
JJ Redick-One dimensional bench player. Defense has improved a bit, but not great.
Shane Battier-I'll call him a no stat all star. He's an awesome defender and a pretty darn good 3pt shooter most of the time.
Dunleavy-Bench player. Darn good shooter though.
Dahntay Jones-Bench player
Maggette-Kind of a ball hog. Borderline starter/bench player
Josh McRoberts-Bench player
Sheldon Williams-Bench player

So maybe I exaggerated when I said 90% of them are white or bench players, but at the end of the day, that's what a lot of them were. With that said, I don't care how good Singler was at Duke because he's going to be like JJ Redick or Mike Dunleavy. Guys who can shoot a bit and do some other things well, but at best is a bench player on a good team.

You don't notice the coincidence?

The guys you named are the exceptions, not the rule.

Grant Hill (injuries)
Trajon Landon (exactly)
Bobby Hurley (MVA - Motor Vehicle Accident)
Jay Williams (See Bobby Hurley)
Cherokee Parks (Yeah, okay.)
Carlos Boozer (good player, but injury prone)
Luol Deng (See Boozer)
Corey Magette (More solid than anyone else, but nothing special)
Danny Ferry (Great White Hype)
Chritian Leattner (See Danny Ferry)
Elton Brand (selfish and injury prone)
Jay Bilas (Who did he do in the pros again?)
Jeff Capel (see Bilas)
Thomas Hill (um, yeah)
Shane Battier (solid career)

and on and on and on until you get blue in the face.

Thanks clonetrooper for the one's I forgot. Forgot all about Dunleavey and Dahntay Jones and Reddick.

lol. The funny thing is I completely agree w/ you on Singler, and I don't think he's a fit for the Bulls either. But, you got my point, of the 12 Dukie's in the league, roughly half are starters, and most of the others are bench pieces that actually play. My point was Duke players get a bad NBA rap b/c of the Laettners/Dunleavy's of the world...but to say you don't want duke players on your team b/c of how "the majority" of them turn out is just silly. 2/5 of our starting line-up were dukies this season!
