Good deal if he can stay healthy.
That doesn't surprise me with a young CB in a base zone defense with an anemic pass rushLotta money for a guy who has a career 76% catch percentage against.
He is super good in the run/blitz however.
Are you literally incapable of acknowledging anything good without pissing in the pool?Nope not at all surprised. This is one of Ryan Poles's boys.
How's Tyrique Stevenson looking?

Also has been one of my arguments for Nick Emmanwori. I think the two of them could be fun with the aggressive Allen defense that has been described.I said it when Allen was hired. Gordon has a real shot at a breakout season with his ability and Allen's way of deploying that position. He needs to stay healthy.
Cause he's one of the best nickels in the league, if not the best, and figures to flourish in Dennis Allen's system.
Still like a great player. He probably gets this season to to show he can stop being a fucking bonehead then he gets a nice payday as wellHow's Tyrique Stevenson looking?
This defense figures to play to his strengths a lot more as well. More man/press coverage and Jaylon Johnson shadowing the other team's best receiver.Still like a great player. He probably gets this season to to show he can stop being a fucking bonehead then he gets a nice payday as well

Tyrique is embarking on the redemption 2.0 season. Al Harris turning him into a pro bowler

That said, I think the Kyler Gordon deal (alongside Jaylon's deal) shuts the door on Tyrique being here long-term either way. Hope he plays will in the meantime though.
To the second paragraph, I think we can be assured that it would take a lot to have three CBs on extensions with big bucks attached. The team has good depth at CB, and can keep drafting to keep the stable full. Stevenson and anyone else in the position group will likely be allowed to walk, and start adding to the pool of players that generate comp picks. This defense figures to play to his strengths a lot more as well. The only way I see Stevenson receiving a competitive offer from Poles would be if Johnson takes a big dive and he looks to be the heir apparent.
Good extension for a good, young player. Good decision on which young corner to keep between him and 29.
Now, it’s win-win. If 29 is consistently inconsistent as has been his career, you can move on and let someone else overpay him to be their new CB2 the way the market is going where it pays to be mid.
If he gets his head out of his ass and can learn to be consistently above average to good, you can deal him.
