**** bpa. let's draft for the future. TE's are trendy right now. I get it. But Bennett should be able to do what we need. Meanwhile, G, LB, C, CB await

I know what you mean, but Trestman is going to use a lot of 2 TE sets. Eifert and M. Bennett would be elite. They both can run block, pass block, pass receive across the middle and some deep with mismatch size and speed. It would make a huge impact on the Offense.

And we pick up a solid guard with our 2nd pick; round it out with a good LB, CB and WR prospect.

TE wouldn't be my first choice for 20, I see it more with a trade down, with Ertz or should Eifert fall, combined with a guard. I'd prefer a guard and then LB, but I don't want to see us reach.

Basically, I'm just saying I'd be OK with all those picks because I see the upside in all of those. And I see some horror with a reach at LB.

right, I know, patriots 2.0. I don't think we need to build our offense that way. We have much more glaring needs and it doesn't speak to Trestman's skillset, either.

Meanwhile, our C is about to go on Medicare, our LBs are getting older and/or are on 1-year contracts, and our CBs are Tillman, Frey, and a bunch of FAs unless you want to count Bowman.

We aren't in BPA mode. We should be in restock mode.

I love what Jennings did but one of the things I was hoping for with a new GM and now a new HC is to see us build through the draft

I wouldn't mind DT given our depth. Linebacker given the future outlook. O-line given the past. CB given the age and price of current. or a weapon given the new offense and need for 2TE and 4WR sets from shotgun.

Straight skippy on that.

We could use another guard, a center to replace Garza, another TE, another DT in the rotation, a DE if we don't resign Izzy, a speedy WR for the oft injured Bennett/Jeffrey, plus a LB and CB prospect. Both Jenning's and Tillman's are FA in 2014, just like the LBs Williams and Anderson are. A CB would start right away as a NB. The rookie LB should have to beat out Williams and Anderson. We have a lot of needs to fill. Might as well fill them with a for sure quality player.

See, why can't you be smart like Raskolnikov, Ole69?

Well fisch, we finally have a pass catching TE possibly even 2. davis couldn't even catch a cold if he wanted to. speath had his problems also. these 2 are young and with the current coaching staff i think they will both excell. hopefully. as for the draft, all it takes is for a team or 2 to draft out of sync from what the so called experts believe teams will pick or choose, then it throws everybody off. last year was a good example, descatro fell pretty far. heck we could have had him, but i think marinelli was in emery's ear. our line looks allot better now then last year, n if we missout on 1 of the top O-linemen then i hope we get a real good future MLB. 1 never knows tho what's going to happen come draft day, or who we would be willing to trade away. we might get surprised. the game has turned into a buisness and we all know thus far, emery is all buisness and wants to win now. i think it's going to be an interesting draft and season for us. hopefully a damn good season :crazydance::D

GO BEARS!!!

IF they draft Eifert that will make the Bennett and Maneri signings look REALLY dumb.

Eh if Bennett goes down we dont have a TE at all. Maneri has a grand total of 6 receptions and 52 yards in 19 games/3 seasons. Eifert on the other hand looks like the real deal to me.

I wouldn't mind this pick.

Lol. Did you forget about kyle adams and evan rodriguez? Spin it however you want but we clearly have bigger needs than TE

I agree Ole. I cant see why any team would spend a 1st round pick on a guy just in case the starter goes down. i want to draft a day one starter

Both McShay and Kiper are predicting an unprecedented run on OL. Not only will the top 4 OT`s be off the board before the 20th pick, but both Warmack and Cooper are in the top 11. I know that most of the time we should take them with a grain of salt, but I`m wondering how others on here think. One other note, they also have Ogletree gone before 20 as well.:office:

Trade up for Warmack. I agree with this Bears fan. We need to protect Cutler.
