Why is it "about damn time?" What else did he do that was so impressive? I, personally, thought he was a god in Titanic...

IMO, his best performance ever was "Blood Diamond." Unfortunately for him, that was the year that Forest Whitaker delivered his best performance ever in "The Last King of Scotland." If not for that, Leo wins the Oscar easily.

2005 was also some bad luck when Jamie Foxx won for "Ray." I think Leo probably finished in 2nd place again with his performance in "The Aviator."

2016 was a fairly easy win for Leo in "The Revenant." Competition was weak. It certainly wasn't Leo's best performance but definitely the best of that year. Never in doubt.
