1 year, 1.5 MIL. That's great for both sides. Vokoun finally gets a winning team and a shot at the cup and allows the Caps to still have cap room..

This makes the Flyers look even more frantic with their moves

You ain't kiddin'. As of right now, picking up Vokoun dirt cheap, flipping Varly for a 1st and a 2nd looks like a home run for McPhee.

the habs discussion is probably just a bunch of eck BS, but reading through all of the posts....their fans want hammer and want to unload gomez. hypothetically if this were something of substance...what would you do?

I wouldn't touch Gomez and his fucked contract for anything, let alone a 2nd pairing d-man.

No chance.

10th in SV % is not bad when .921 is 10th .924 is 4th + 3rd in the NHL is Shots against. The team had the 3rd highest PP goals against while being 22nd on the PP. Id say he is pretty solid.

Bryzgalov is certainly good. Wouldn't want him for what Philly is paying though.

However... if we would get regular interviews with him, it might be worth it...

Numbers can be deceiving. I'd lean more on TBO's opinion if he saw Bryzgalov play regularly. A lot depends on when he allowed goals and how they were scored. Im guessing a lot of fans who didnt see Huet play regularly and relied on the ESPN highlight package were wondering why the Hawks dumped his tired ass as he did have the occasional great game which everyone would see highlights of. Very rarely would the nation see the limp wristed shots he missed or the horrid bad angle goals he'd allow....we had to sit thru and watch his crap play, so we all knew how bad he was.

Really dont have to do that when the numbers speak for themselves. to debate the 2 goalies is kinda pointless.

.909 Sv%
.895 SV%

i dont need to know about soft goals etc when I see those numbers from huet.

Again, product of his defense as I stated the numbers above. Also that is a huge sample size. Is he overpaid? yes. But to say he isnt good is fucking stupid.

I guess you guys that thank each other with reach arounds dont look at those type of numbers unless it is goal scoring rankings for the hawks.

Great move by the Sharks.

Heatley was a bust for SJ and they managed a nice return for him as well as a much friendlier cap hit.

Solid move.

Numbers can't be deceiving? So you live and die by player's stats, huh? Ok, try these out for size.

Lifetime .919 2.53 672 games
Playoffs .917 2.50 59 games

Not too shabby. Trouble is, there ARE other things to consider....like if the guy
can handle pressure, if he chokes in the playoffs, IF he can carry his team when called on to do so and if he allows bad goals at terrible times.

Those are real numbers of a very real NHL goalie that I wouldnt take if he was given to me for a bag of pucks.

Canucks aka the Chicago Wolves sign Andrew Ebbett...Decent signing,he has good speed and will be good on the farm. Could possibly see him get some time on the 4th line.
