Pascal LecLaire. Look for the Hawks to possibly grab him..he is a steal as backup insurance. Devils also have interest.

Heard a possible 2-way deal

dont trust hockeybuzz 100% because Eklund owns it or whatever, but it would be a nice move...

Didn't see that anyone mentioned Mr. Tallon made a trade for Keith Seabrook last week.

Not very relevant, but clearly he is making a push for any player Hawk 2010 Champ related.

The Islanders should be calling Tallon to see if they can get a great offer for David Toews.

Ending a ton of nonsensical speculation, Stamkos inked a five year deal with the Bolts. 7.5ish cap hit are the early reports.

Montreal Canadiens sign defenceman Josh Gorges to one-year contract

The Montreal Canadiens signed defenceman Josh Gorges to a one-year contract on Friday.

Gorges had a goal and six assists in 36 games last season. He had 18 penalty minutes and averaged 21:10 seconds of ice time per game.

"We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Josh Gorges for the 2011-12 season," said Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier in a statement. "He is a very reliable defenceman for our club."

The 26-year-old from Kelowna, B.C., has played with Montreal for six seasons.

Buffalo Sabres re-sign G Enroth
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Ryan Miller finally has some backup in Buffalo.

Impressed with how Jhonas Enroth capably filled in for an injured Miller at the end of last season, the Sabres rewarded their top goalie prospect by re-signing him to a two-year contract on Thursday.

Enroth earned what's anticipated to be a significant bump to his US$685,000 salary last season. He was an restricted free agent, whose rights had been retained by the Sabres when they tendered him a contract earlier this month.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Vinny Prospal to a one-year contract.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move Saturday but did not disclose terms of the deal. The Blue Jackets were in need of a top-six forward because Kristian Huselius suffered a torn chest muscle and will miss the start of the season.

The 36-year-old Prospal has spent 13 seasons in the NHL and appeared nine times in the Stanley Cup playoffs. He has 227 goals and 453 assists in 978 career games, including 9 goals and 14 assists in 29 games last season with the New York Rangers and one goal in five playoff games.

He previously played for Philadelphia, Ottawa, Florida, Tampa Bay and Anaheim.
