I'm not the only person watching this, right?

Far from a regular viewer but definitely checking in on this one.

He should have hung them up about 10 years ago. Was a big fan back in the days before he lost his edge and became outdated. Havent been able to get through a show in eons.

I will watch his last show though just for kicks later tonight. Seen a few of this weeks episodes and yah back in the day Dave ruled. Just CBS and that shit with the Leno wrecked him.

you sound like a reverse ageist. letterman was groundbreaking in his day and he also gave some of my friends' bands their first national exposure. just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's bad.

Never said it was.

I love warren zevon, I just don't care if Letterman retires.

Just a question, why are he hosts a big deal when it's the go who wrote the material that is funny? Serious question.

that's like saying a showrunner shouldn't be given credit for his show because he employs a writing team. So I guess Vince Gilligan of X-Files writing fame shouldn't be credited with Breaking Bad.

No, it's like a singer songwriter not getting credit for the fact he wrote a jason aldeans music or keith urban.

Chill dude, I'm just saying I don't really care if a TV host is retiring.

But I appreciate how he did a special for Warren Zevon.

I'm perfectly chill, I just think comments like "HE TOOL WHO CAREZ" are misinformed. I thought Johnny Carson was boring when I was growing up but appreciated his contribution. Whatevs.

Let me ask you this: is there a showrunner you're a fan of or see yourself becoming a fan of, like chris rock or, just perhaps, dane cook?

What's your favorite TV show?

Never been a fan but I watched a bit tonight. Thought he was extremely gracious. Very strange not having him and Leno around. Fallon seems like he's doing great and will carry on the tradition. I have little hope for Colbert.

I'm going to be that guy that says this

It's time for a female host of a late show (not morning shows). The entire genre needs a change and I will represent the feminists even though that's not why I think a female host is needed..I believe there are female personalities that would be great late night talk show hosts. Not for anything regarding "the female view" or " for the womans voice"...I actually think there are some outstanding female talents that would have killer late night talk shows

1) Amy Sedaris (if there was anyone built for late night talk shows its her..she would be outstanding)
2) Maya Rudolph (smart and full of charisma and likeable...so talented also)
3)Sarah Silverman (may be to biting for network television but it would be fun)
4) Tina Fey (actually probably to gifted as a writter to be a host..shes incredible though)

Those would be my top 4 picks right off the bat without thinking hard which I don't want to do. I would put more controversial figures on the list but it's network television..still Disney.

Meh Chris Rock was great once but he too is a guy that has just lost his edge a bit and he is a bit of a one trick pony in my opinion anyways. I think he would conduct a horrible interview also. Plus he wouldn't be that good at kissing peoples asses the way talk show hosts have to.
