Yah. I got home late last night and they run conans show on repeat late here and i did watch it. It was actually a really good show but he did something amazing. He told everyone watching to turn the channel over to CBS when Dave hit the stage. Actually demanded people do it. He also showed a clip of Dave coming on his show the first few months in and how Dave pretty much saved him from being cancelled. Pretty cool. Thats what i still like about Conan. I think with Conan its always depended on what guests he has. Some guests can really elevate hime..last night he had patton oswalt on and they burned it up.

Jimmy Kimmel did the same thing the night prior. He said all kinds of nice things about Letterman and actually started crying on air. He told everyone not to watch his (Kimmel's) show and out of respect for Dave, he wasn't going to air a new show. His original idea was to have a sign that read "watch Letterman on CBS," and just keep it up the entire hour, but the network wouldn't allow him to do that.

Totally agree about Colbert...cannot wait to see his incarnation of a late night show without the heavy political satire and just the goofball that is Stephen Colbert.

ND is horrible.
I'm going to be that guy that says this

It's time for a female host of a late show (not morning shows). The entire genre needs a change and I will represent the feminists even though that's not why I think a female host is needed..I believe there are female personalities that would be great late night talk show hosts. Not for anything regarding "the female view" or " for the womans voice"...I actually think there are some outstanding female talents that would have killer late night talk shows

1) Amy Sedaris (if there was anyone built for late night talk shows its her..she would be outstanding)
2) Maya Rudolph (smart and full of charisma and likeable...so talented also)
3)Sarah Silverman (may be to biting for network television but it would be fun)
4) Tina Fey (actually probably to gifted as a writter to be a host..shes incredible though)

Those would be my top 4 picks right off the bat without thinking hard which I don't want to do. I would put more controversial figures on the list but it's network television..still Disney.

Meh Chris Rock was great once but he too is a guy that has just lost his edge a bit and he is a bit of a one trick pony in my opinion anyways. I think he would conduct a horrible interview also. Plus he wouldn't be that good at kissing peoples asses the way talk show hosts have to.

Also, late night talk shows aren't/weren't my thing, but Letterman was a bright and often funny host with near impeccable taste in music.
