… I have a lot of respect, ironically, for many of you here on the boards. I'm as pissed as the next guy for the loss. More so, in fact, because I could not find a stream and had to follow along with the NFL network, or .com and their internet virtual, bullshit, slow, watch screen and hope that 3 and 8 turns into a 1-10 yards down… note little scrolling line. Urgh.

In any event, I'm really looking forward to Trestman's comments in the days to come. It does sound like he made, what many people are saying, a few boneheaded and stupid, let alone out right bad calls. Nonetheleast being keeping Jay in as long as he did. Jay didn't seem too impressed in the post game comments afterwards. Was he hoping that he would have been pulled? That the coach wouldn't have been trying to listen to him? Will he soon throw Trestman under the bus? Will the other players? Staff? Media? Himself?

I look forward to serious analysis of this game that seems to have been really the Bears for the losing.

Regardless, they were still IN the game with a shot to tie, if not win it at the end. That says a lot. Doesn't make us feel better right now, but maybe later…

I don't have a problem with the 4th & 1 call in the first half like many people do, it's everything else that pissed me off about Trestmans/Kromers play calling tonight.

that 4th & 1 Forte run in the goal line situation....ugh

I blame the play calling infinitely much more than Cutler's play. I still can't believe the bullshit flying out of people's mouths about Cutler playing when two of his TD passes got dropped. Dafuq else can you ask of the man?

Cutler is blameless in this IMO..The coach never pulled him so he kept playing. Maybe he wanted to stay in the game, but the coach makes the call

I do like the more aggressive play calling but IMO when u have a chance to tie or take the lead, You have to kick the field goal.

Cutler did play good in the first half, but it was clear he was having issues moving around in the second half so it's hard to fault him for not bringing McCown in. I know I said the opposite not long ago, but I was pissed at the time.

Completely agree, those two plays trying to go for the 2 pt conversion, they were trying too hard to outsmart the lions. You have 3 BIG targets over 6 feet tall. Line them all up, send two of them to he corner and one in the middle, and throw it up. I'd rather that than what we got.

Agreed 100%

we have the Twin Towers for a reason, they brought us down the field in the first place...WHY IN THE FUCK would you rely on Forte to convert a 4th down when he couldn't convert a damn sofa if his life depended on it all game long.

Trestman/kromer have far too much faith in Matt Forte. He's not that good to get this much faith from the coaching staff. He's a good RB, but he's not that good.

The second 2 pt. conversion attempt should have been a pass. I don't know why we attempt to run up the don't know why we attempt to run up the gut. We have three monsters in Marshall, Jeffery, and M. Bennett. Put it near one of them and it's going into OT. Forte was lousy today. Oh well. Hope Jay's okay and fuck the Ravens up next week.

A lot of dirty shit didn't get called against Detroits D today. I think some fines will get handed out. Peanut should expect some as well.

Or maybe it was a designed quick slant that was wide open and the defender made a great play. Question the play call but the read was correct.

The Cutler INT in the red zone was a spectacular play by Detroit's defense. That passing lane was open at the time of the throw.

Cutler haters will blame this loss on Cutler... and the crazies will act as though the sky has fallen.

We beat the Pack and lost to the Lions.... and I think our team is looking better as the weeks have gone on.... defense is actually improving, if they can fix their run D they can compete.

Sane minds will dominate tomorrow, don't worry :D

The bears left a W out on the field today. They did not get beat, they beat themselves. Cutler or no Cutler didn't really matter, cause he had two Tds dropped and a forte run td called back. Cutler did drive them down the field all day...I think McCown could have as well. The problem is with some of the play calling late in the game esp with the 2 point conversion. I don't care what the play is going to be you can not start the play with both Marshall and Jeffreys on bench.
also on the Td to Megatron to take the lead. The whole world knew the ball was goinbg there and we still leave tillman on a island....makes no sense

the 4th and about a yard and half was horrible to me because bush haven't carried the ball since nam and you use him? why not go with the warmed up player and use forte?

For now, I go with neither. Until we get a RB that can move the pile, don't rush on important short yardage situations IMO.

I think I might just start putting the clueless posters on ignore. One track mind tunnel vision idiocy. It's getting old.

This loss is on Trestman. Cutler should have been benched in the 3rd. We should have kicked the FG on 4th down. The 2 chances for the 2-pt conversion should both have involved Jeffery and Marshall. We should have mixed things up to get Forte involved in the game rather than the same ole running plays that didn't work all game long.

This was Trestman's Lovie game. I found myself saying "WTF is he doing!?" on multiple occasions. I hope he learns from it, and improves. This better not be a sign of things to come.
