I think this is hilarious, mostly because he's just being honest and the stiffs at CBS freaked out. What a great situation, he's just saying what he wants. No PR people in the way to tidy up coverup and it comes off as real genuine insanity and it's gold. He's got enough money. He loves to party and he said it himself. I woke up at 45 divorced without my kids and miserable, and then remembered I have a boatload of money and should just go out and enjoy myself. And he's further resurrecting his life. While this may not be the image for 2 and a half men, it will probably throw him back into movies where he belongs anyway. I have a problem when celebrities do this shit then try to hide it and pretend it's not happening or it's ok and just throw money at it. But you know what, he just doesn't care, he's just doing what ever the **** he wants and letting the shit fall wherever. If you watch some of the interviews he's actually very lucid and quick witted, it's hilarious how on top of it it is. It's almost as if he's pulling kicking Joaquin Phoenix in the nuts and saying listen kid this is how you do it. He's not lying about shit, so I respect him for that, unless of course he's actually lying about it all which I don't think he is looking at all the evidence.

Don't care for the show, never really watched it, so take this with a grain of salt.

He was merely the voice of comedic writers. Anyone can deliver lines, and a few of those can make those lines their own. Become the character, as it were. In this case, I think the actor was the basis of the character. It may prove to be the downfall of the show, the firing of one of the main character. Many shows have replace a main player before and been successful. Although with him gone, the shows name will probably change. Unless.....

How about this: What about bringing in a kid, like 8 years old or so, as Sheen's "illegitimate" kid? As his character was quite the ladies man, he may have one, no? Have the kid be very similar to Charlie, in attitude and philanderer prowess. Have the kid never meet Charlie, just be like him. As if his genes were passed to the next generation.

Let's face it. The kid on that show ain't a kid anymore, and he can assume the role one of the "Men". Therefore you can keep the 2 and a Half Men title.

Not a chance. His personality was brought out plain and simple. Without him they don't have a show.

Not even possible in a TV landscape if Ricky Gervais currently has a show.

I watch a lot of shitty television. I mean a lot. Hell, I think I was the only one who liked "The Cape."

But I never saw what was so funny about 2 and 1/2 Men. I would watch it every now and again but never saw why it lasted the way it did.

As to your first part, there was nothing funny about it. As to the second, it's one of those eternal mysteries of the cosmos (like who Kennewick Man's ancestors were) why American TV viewers revel in so much utter crap.

I don't find any sitcom on CBS funny. Not one. I think NBC has the only ones I watch. 30 rock, Parks and Rec.... that's about it.

I would occationally catch 2 and 1/2 men on repeats, if I happened to be on the channel and it flipped on after i was watching something on demand or something. It was never something I wanted to keep watching, but then again no sitcom is. Ive never watched sitcoms on my own, when I was a kid my parents would watch them and Id see them, but never since I've been living on my own have i ever regularly watched a sitcom.

That said, I don't know if the show can keep going on without him. it would depend on if they were replacing the character or just the actor. I think they would have to replace the character. Since his name was charlie on the show, it would forever have that charlie sheen legacy.

i guess they would invent another brother, or a cousin or something. Plenty of shows have replaced key characters and continued on. MASH (probably the only "sitcom" I do love)was a big one in that regard, although, this would almost be the equivilent of getting rid of Hawkeye which was like the one character you couldnt replace and expect the show to survive, even just changing out the actor, for the series alan alda was hawkeye and thats it.

I hope they kill off the character, saying he died during an all night coke binge with whores. It would almost have to be a death, because i doubt sheen is going to appear in a farewell episode.

NO. If they do anything they need to cancel the show altogether. It was bad enough before, not it will only be worse. And probably still win awards.

Cool brainstorming Bro and "Hello!" gainful employment for Emilio Estevez!

Q......F......T

Although I will admit, it's not always real easy for me to watch his animated show on Cable (HBO/Showtime - I don't remember which).

Modern Family on ABC?

I have it on the DVR, but more often than not I skip it. It's just fallen into predictable sterotypes and the same jokes done by every other show. Got old after a few episodes. Like the Office is now.

It's on HBO and it's great, if you get it.

But he's not really on TV... I mean, that's not a show that's on TV unless you have HBO. And I don't really count the office as his either, it's a monster beyond him that is eating itself.

HBO *is* part of the TV landscape so yes, he really is on TV.

I don't even recognize the American version of "The Office" as existing really so that's not even a factor for me. I am talking about shows where he himself, brings his genius.

lol. how fucking awesome would that be if they hired him? I honestly think the show would show a spike in ratings at least for a bit, just on the drama of that decision alone.

I have to disagree. Ricky Gervais is funny in standup (though his last one was a bore). I have never felt the office to be funny. The style of comedy of that show to me isn't funny just stupid.

I understand it is popular just not my speed is all.

Dennis Miller is suggesting that Charlie Sheen should be on next years "Bachelor". Also Mark Cuban is in talks with him about a series.

Eh, if 99.9999% of the nation pulled the shit Sheen did they would be out of a job too. Being an actor on a popular (and end of it's life, btw) sitcom is not an exception. While it all makes for good humor, Sheen's antics are pretty indicative of a serious personality issues that have always chased him. His career only revieved from the show and will disappear when the act is trite, just like it did last time.

Duh winning!

Haven't seen his animated HBO series but I seriously fucking LOVED both the BBC's "The Office" and "Extras". PLUS he's brilliant at stand-up!

SAMESIES... although I do heart the American office too. There is some serious talent on that show.

His stand-up is brilliant and creative... his Humpty Dumpty bit is fantastic.
