SAMESIES... although I do heart the American office too. There is some serious talent on that show.

His stand-up is brilliant and creative... his Humpty Dumpty bit is fantastic.

I totally agree... unfortunately, with the last few seasons it's just been so obvious (to me) that they are out of ideas. Every other episode doesn't even take place IN the office. I applaud the creativity they use to get out of the office and how they've definitely made the show more about all the characters instead of just Steve Carrell - but I wonder if with his departure, maybe it's just time to end it.

Modern Family on ABC?

I watched one season of Modern Family and honestly never found it terribly funny. The latin actress (I forget her name) was the reason I watched, she is ridiculously hot.

The show would be good but the guy married to the daughter sucks and kills the show for me.

Any comedy that doesn't come off as believable is lost on me. That's the best way I can describe it and it is a poor description and the exception is animated but very few animated shows get even a pass.

Take the Sarah Silverman Show, she's a decent stand up comedy and that show was hot garbage, it is so stupid.

Modern Family, the son in law sucks, he sucks, he isn't funny and he's just stupid

The Office, I have only caught bits and pieces of the show but what I have seen is Steve Carell's character isn't funny he's just stupid.

Now here's the twist I think the show Archer is hilarious. Go figure

Archer is great, and I think the different there is that it's a fairy tale story to begin with and not trying to be a situational comedy. The basis of the office especially, the way it's shot is supposed to make it seem like reality. Which is where the extreme stupidity rubs me wrong. A lot of the stuff there is funny but most if it doesn't have to do with Michael Scott. Archer, its all written as not real and over the top stereotypical, so it's smart humor comes off well.Just like two and a half men always seems to revert to overplayed sexism and masochistic jokes that anyone can right and have no wit just easy laughs. Which is the exact reason why it could go on with a recasting.

You might just have figured it out Mass. Hooray, have a cookie.

I don't think 2 and a half men will survive long without Charlie, it was always funniest when he was drunk and womanizing. As for easy laughs, who cares, if you laugh it was funny. The majority of the episodes I always laughed at least once, some of them I about pissed my pants. However, as the show has continued it has become less and less funny with each season but still was an enjoyable show. Also Jenny McCarthy's boobs are epic I just wanted to suffocate myself in them.

All I know is I want a job where I can get fired and collect $100 million on the way out the door. That's fucking obscene. Who writes these contracts and who is the douschenozzle signing them?

easy laughs aren't about getting everyone to laugh with a stupid joke, it's about pandering to a stupid devolved audience in order to keep your product marketable. It's quantity for quality.

Is it any different than the CEO's with their golden parachutes?

Bingo... and the fact is that contract was written in a way that protected him and apparently made a lot of money for the network or they both wouldn't have signed it. I don't think either side can complain. And honestly it's not like he's just walking away and they are handing him money. He gets money if they replace him, which to me kinda makes since since made the show a hit and a brand. And if they don't he gets money off of syndacation, which he would have got anyway. If nothing else this fiasco will make it even more popular. If I was more of a conspiracy theorist, I'd say that the show was going to end anyway for some reason and all of this has come out to make it even more popular and aware and drive up the syndication costs. I bet people who didn't normally watch the show will not at least give it a shot to see what the fuss is.
