For $225 round trip who would want to?

I always chuckle about the "fans" at certain arenas/ venues/ rinks.

You get what you give and I have never had an issue at Wings, Blues,

Vikings or even the old North Stars. I love chatting with the locals around

me and have even been known to buy a few "pops" for those around.

Once you do that and you are respectful in their stadium you would be

amazed at how quick they will be to defend you if anything should arise.

EDIT: Booked on US Airways. RK and I will be on same flights.

I guess it would basically be a wash... but people have been posting much higher flying costs than that.

A buddy emailed me earlier today talking about driving, but also mentioned that it is a 13 hour drive each way. That is draining. Its a little less than a two hour flight. Big difference. I just got in from saigon yesterday after about 25 straight hours of traveling, including crossing 13 time zones and the international date line. I really don't feel like 26 more hours in a short time frame anytime soon....

WOW... it is a 13 hour drive I just did a map quest of it. I had no idea, I would have guessed 7-8 hours. Then again as you all know I am not the resident expert on American geography!

I'm so friggin jealous of you guys, if I wasn't a shit poor college student I'd go... the sad thing is, who knows if this is going to be the last opportunity to see the Hawks in the Cup finals for a long time. We may have a great team for years, but you never know, sucks to be me right now.

Some of us have bad our dues and have waited a long time for this so I am not letting the

opportunity pass me by. Pretty sure if I was in your shows and age that I would not be going either. Gut feeling is that this core team is going to be a contender for years to come.

There is just something about that first time (stop what some of you are thinking right there!) that makes these events special. A perfect example would be the first convention as RK discussed in another thread and having breakfast with the legends and current players. That can never be duplicated.

Look on the bright side Ton... the next time the Hawks are in the Cup Finals you could be rich beyond your wildest dreams and get to go to all the games :)

Ton, he's right. The vets here deserve this more than us, man. We've been around for a short amount of time as opposed to those who have been practically all but kicked in the nuts to get here. This one, should it go that far, is for all of them. Sure, we've done our part to get here, too, but I don't need to remind anyone in here about the history of the Chicago Blackhawks and what the true fans have endured to get to this point.

Let the true fans here have their fun. The vets deserve it far more than either you or me. They've dealt with far more than we can ever imagine to get to this point.

On our end, we're still seeing something completely amazing that we may never see for a long time. Let's just enjoy this while its here. We have plenty of time to get back here with this team's core around for years. If it doesn't happen again, there's always this season to look back on, kinda like how a guy can admit they remember 1961.

We'll earn our stripes, just as they did soon enough.

To recap what CL just said.

Us old farts need to see this before we kick the bucket! :p

We are all fans here.

I want all to enjoy it. The future fans are being developed right now and

they are just as important. We all started being a fan for a reason. For

many the reason is now and what they are witnessing.

If this is a dream........PLEASE don't wake me!

Have been a fan for 43 years....and have been walking in a daze since Sunday.

What makes it truly special is to share it in person with my wonderful family, Mr. Stu and

Stunior...... I still can't believe we will be attending the Stanley Cup Finals.... it's a dream come true.

Somebody pinch me.
