Mechie was starting to make plays too
I really like metchie in the draft. His health issues obviously have limited him.

Also Robert woods, while not productive, was a good addition to the wr room.

Noah brown was productive too. He's a guy who is clearly a case of being elevated by the qb because he's been pretty garbage throughout his career.

Hutchinson was another talented wr they added in the draft.

They did a lot to try to optimize Strouds rookie year

So now the latest argument is CJ Stroud has all of these weapons and poor old Justin Fields only has one good receiver, and a sieve for an offensive line.

Now, imagine for one minute, the Justin Fields had Devon Singletary in the backfield and Nico Collins as his number one target. Nico Collins, whose career high in receiving yards was about 60% of Darnell Mooney, and suddenly Mooney who this board had a number one receiver a year ago doesn’t even count as a second weapon.

Now it’s DJ Moore only and that’s not as good as Nico Collins.

Are you people even remotely serious?
Preach, brother.

It’s always someone else’s fault. Good quarterbacks show it.

Show me the QB who left the Bears and became great.

Looking at those college stats again, a couple of things stand out to me:

Williams completed 127 more passes in college than Fields even attempted.

Maye completed exactly the same number of passes in college that Fields attempted (talk about weird quirks).

I don't like that Maye's completion percentage went down this year vs last year. You would normally expect that to go up with experience like you see with both Fields and Williams.

In the mod forum planning your ban

Here’s that disingenuous stuff again , let’s break it down shall we?

Stroud does have weapons, just because you don’t know them doesn’t mean it’s untrue.

Fields does have just two weapons and the LG and Center are bad. I don’t see people saying it was a sieve.

Are we pretending Singletary is bad or Herbert is good? I think people were enamored with Herbert’s speed but people were expecting RoJo to take over.

Of course Moore is a better WR than anyone on the Texans but as a collective the Texans have a better unit. We as Bears fans expected Moore-Claypool-Mooney and Kmet but Claypool was a **** and Mooney no longer has that breakaway speed that made him a threat. While it’s true he at one point was the bears #1 WR ( who else would it be) doesn’t mean it stayed that way. Pointing that out but not the injury he suffered is dumb. There was even a chart showing where the bears ranked in WR separations and only Moore was consistent with it. Jones is only good for gadget plays and Scott has critical drops (he can still be good) and do I need to bring up ST brown? Point being is a bunch of 2’s is better than just one legit WR

Of btw you completely ignored that lie I called you out on when you said half the board said Nagy ruined Fields. Still waiting

And I have a “fan” who’s been crying about his one day ban for months. 😂
Out of curiosity, who is this "fan"? Do you have the testicles to @ them(you don't because you didn't but i'd like to know anyways)?

Fields barely played his rookie year and Covid was his final year. Thus he had far fewer attempts and he clearly wasn't a fully polished prospect coming out. Add to it the anemic amount of passing attempts that Getsy called for him and there is no way to be certain about moving on without giving him another year.

I think that was one of the reasons why it made sense to trust Mahomes tape over Mitch - Mitch did not have anything remotely close to Mahomes pass attempts.

Thanks—good listen.

It’s fear-based philosophy that will keep the Bears from even trying for greatness, but good listen.

Here’s the deal: A lot of people advocating for “THE HAUL!!” are just assuming all those picks will turn out great. They’re doing the same thing they accuse the Williams supporters of doing.

1) Many of them are assuming you’ll get Marvin Harrison, Jr, plus two future first rounders. There’s almost no possible way that happens. If you trade down far enough to get 2 future 1st rounders, that’s too far down to get MHJ. If you only trade down a spot or two, that’s probably not far enough down to gather 2 future 1st rounders.

2) They’re assuming “THE HAUL!!” is “franchise making”. Let’s play this out: The Bears trade down to, say, the high single digits/low double digits and get 2 future 1st rounders. They use those picks on a DT, an edge rusher and, ok fine, a receiver (I have my doubts).

Fast forward a few years when you actually see the fruits of those picks, using THE BEST CASE SCENARIO. You have a great, young, developing DT, edge rusher and receiver. Meanwhile, by this point, you’re paying Fields $40 million a year, you’ve let JJ go because he’s getting too expensive, and you’re taking offers on DJ because he’s also getting expensive and you already have his young great replacement on your team.

^^Does any of this bring you into Super Bowl contention? Or does it just create a mediocre-team cycle?

And mind you, this is the best case scenario. The more likely scenario is “THE HAUL!!” a few years down the line turns into a couple of good players and a couple of busts. Nice haul. Was it worth it? Meanwhile you’re having to watch Stroud kill it in Houston and Williams potentially killing it in Washington or New England.

You still have a mediocre quarterback who’s 3rd or 4th in your division, but hey, at least you’re 9-8 and didn’t have to take a risk!

Bottom line: “THE HAUL!” is not the guarantee some people think it is. Neither is Williams. I acknowledge that. But I’d like my team to try instead of always being scared.

We’ve seen this team in recent years have all world defenses, Hall of Fame linebackers, All-Pro edge rushers, an offense full of skill position Pro Bowl playmakers.

And where has it gotten them?

You know what they haven’t had? A great quarterback.

I want a great quarterback.
“An offense full of skill position pro bowl playmakers?”

What? Where are all these players?!

They had multiple years of 4 Pro Bowlers on the same offense—Alshon Jeffery, Brandon Marshall, Martellus Bennett, Matt Forte.

That is the definition of an opinion, not fact. You’re free to have it, just dont maskerade it as a fact.

Also not sure what your comment has to do with my post whatsoever lol

I can't think of any good offense with only one WR.
My point is that any comparison of Fields and Williams must take into account the Bears WR situation. If you find it unresponsive to your post, so be it. (Masquerade)

It actually is a great day! Hope your Saturday night thinking about my ban helped you take your mind off your micropenis long enough to fall asleep.

all good though. You’re not even allowed to just outright ban people anymore thanks to my temp retirement. You have to ask permission now lmaoooo. Hold on to whatever internet juice you have left Modfather. I have a feeling you won’t have any soon enough.

Your scenario blows up if Justin prospers with proper coaching and support. Plus, you have zero idea of what the market will be for the number one pick.

If Williams is viewed as a great QB, the price will be astronomical no matter how far they trade down.
And if Williams is viewed as a great QB and knowing that you've still got this big ol' fat question mark at the most important position in the sport, wouldn't it just make sense to just draft Caleb Williams?
