A great QB makes it easier for everyone else and covers up flaws in a way no other position can.

But obviously having a great QB isn't a guarantee of championships, nor does not having a great QB guarantee you'll have a poor team.

Your odds of winning it all, and competing every year are the highest when you have an elite QB. This isn’t really that complicated. Currently it’s Mahomes who is carrying his team every year deep into the playoffs. Before him it was Brady. The teams that win super bowls typically have a tier one elite QB.
It’s so blindingly obvious, especially in today’s NFL. Look who the last 4-8 teams are in the playoffs every year. They’re always very heavy on very-good-to-elite QBs. And we’re supposed to believe that’s some kind of accident?

Also, it’s very weird how against finding a great QB so many fans are. If you said, “We have to find a great linebacker” or “We have to find a great receiver” or “We have to find great linemen,” they’d say, “Hell yes!”

But when you say, “We need to find a great quarterback,” they act like that’s the dumbest thought ever.

Let’s all ask Bill Belichek if he’d prefer an elite QB or just a good one with a strong supporting cast. Pretty sure we know his answer

Poles trades down with Belichick's former team, then picks Jayden Daniels. That'd be pretty crazy.

Bears fans have been in a lifelong abusive relationship. They say crazy things born out of decades of emotional beat downs and denial.

Mayfield was a bust at one point, nobody saw this rise from Stroud, Goff is sloppy seconds and people were calling Jackson a running back not so long ago. At some point you need to realize it isn’t just the QB being naturally good but development has to play a roll. You’ve been insanely obtuse lately

Draft Strategy...

Always select the next Tom Brady.....

Strange that more teams don't do this...

When did I say development isn’t important?

@PrideisBears, you’ve obviously been really annoyed with me lately, which is your right. That’s fine.

But unless Fields rises above and becomes a good QB one day, I will have been correct, no matter how much that annoys you.

I work in likelihoods and probabilities. The overwhelming likelihood is that Fields never becomes good.

If that happens, will you still view me as obtuse, or will you realize I was actually right?

I’ve already said I’m willing to be wrong if it goes the other way. That’s why I don’t make it personal when talking with people who believe in Fields, unlike you.

Notice that I don’t call people names when they believe in Fields. I don’t tell them to shut up. I don’t tell them how annoying they are. I just argue against their points.

Again, not the point. Read what I was responding to and try again.

Agreed. They shouldn’t have tagged you as you bring nothing worthwhile to the argument or debate

What worthwhile debate?

Justin Fields didn't improve with a better offensive line or with DJ Moore and Cole Kmet having career years. He was the worst QB in the fourth quarter again. He was bottom third in QBR and held onto the ball way too long yet again. He had a horrible number of turnovers again.

He's going to improve with a better offensive coordinator and another weapon. But he's not going to be good enough to take the Bears on a deep playoff run because of how horrible he is with the game on the line in very clutch situations.

I can’t believe people need this explained to them. 😂

Absolutely not, but I thought it might be worthwhile for you to listen to a voice that knows so much more about the game and how it works than you’ll ever know.
The same guy that's been kissing ass for the Chicago Bears for about 7 years now?

Mayfield is still a bust until does something like get to the NFC Title game or win a Super Bowl. One playoff game win doesn't a career make.

He’s measured with his take.

Plus, I don’t care what he’s been kissing. On his worst day, he’s light years more knowledgeable than you.

The Patriots could stumble their way into the playoffs every year and then Brady would show up and take them to another Super Bowl.
