Yesh! Me thinks that mountain lion was too interested in the little girl in the house. I would try to give it a big scare. I wonder, by law of whatever state/province that is, if you can kill a cougar if it kills your animals? I'd be watching my kids close after seeing that.
A good dog in this house was very much needed.
If you live where bigger cats roam, they need to know a property is defended by humans and dogs.
Dogs pissing on the perimeter helps scent mark the territory so the predators at least know they are in an area they shouldn't be.
This puts their fight-or-flight instincts on high so you can often frighten them away.
Without this kind of marking, they come and see prey animals
