Glad I kept my tickets for the game.

Original six match-up against a team that doesn't come to the UC as much as they should.

I'll be rooting for a 10 - 0 Blackhawks win.

Optimist of course :) Here's the game plan to stop that from happening - Toronto scores once or twice early, then puts the Hawks on the PP the rest of the night.

What is 1 for 39 anyways? I had to calculate it -it is just a shade over a 2.5% success rate -what is considered decent? 27-30% ... that isn't just scarey... it transcends pathetic -I'm not even sure words describe it.

One of the few memorable games from the recent dark ages was when Toronto came to town in 06.

As close to a full house as it got back then with a surprising amount of Toronto fans. I Managed to get down to the front row in 328 and there were some particularly obnoxious Leaf fans below in the 200s with an ENORMOUS team flag that they waved often. Much yelling was directed towards them throughout the night.

Vandermeer ended Michael Peca's season with a knee on knee hit in the first and that really set the tone for the game (as if the full house hadn't already done that). Toronto lead after 1 but it was tied at 1 in the 2nd period off a shorty by SMOKE. It was such a tight game that even the tie didn't feel safe.

06-07 was one of the peak years for my going to Hawks games. I had just graduated from college that summer and had plenty of free time as I was completing an internship. When the Hawks picked up Peter Bondra and it was fairly certain he'd score #500 with the Hawks, I made it a goal to see him do it. One of my best friends is a Slovak so we had a good time cheering for Peter in person.

Boy did he take a while... if I remember correctly, he was stuck on 499 for a while to the point where it seemed like he was a little snakebit. I remember convincing my old man to come with to the Toronto game by telling him we were going to see a Hawk score their 500th goal.

Sure enough- tight game in the 3rd period in front of a packed house, Bondra did it. It was great... the crowd couldn't have been better. He got close to a 5 minute ovation as the screen flashed 500 and Savard patted Bondra on the back. Really awesome.

Two photos I took that I still have saved:

The Hawks went on to win 3-1 and it was easily the highlight of that season. Really glad I went. What a great way to spend $8

Still have the stub

Toronto has given up two goals in the first five minutes in their last 2 games. The Leafs are shaken right now. I'm surprised Vegas only has Chicago as a -170 favorite.
