Like the Wildcat, Kelly's offense will flash hot, wow early, and fizzle out. Trestman will build a powerhouse.

Go back to your hole you old bastard. Nobody cares what you think on this board. Probably because you offer nothing of any merit toward any topic, ever.

Teams are gonna steal some of his techniques and methods of getting plays in faster and then he will be gone. Having your QB run around while throwing is a formula for turnovers, the read option will cause QBs to take hits like RBs and they will have a short shelf life. Marc Trestman offense will last.

What's even more telling is:

-Grown men that refer to Walter Payton as Sweetness

-Grown men that wear Bear's Jerseys

-Grown men that go to Bear's training camp without children

-Grown men that ask other grown men for their autographs

More than telling, it's downright creepy

This is pretty spot on.

BTW I like Trestman and our offensive personnel over chip.

On a side note im pretty interested to see how they do at mile high next week. I am betting the second half is going to look pretty ugly.

I like the tempo of Kelly's offense, but I can't imagine the offense itself working long term in the NFL. Hell, physical/disciplined college teams were able to shut it down. It's essentially a typical read/option college offense ran at a very high tempo. At least that how it looks to me. And I just can't imagine an offense that pretty much asks the QB to make one read or take off cutting it at this level for any extended length of time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Vick even has the ability to change the play, since it seems he's been looking to the sideline for audibles. With that said, McCoy is a hell of a back and Kelly can probably ride him for some time.

Anyway to answer the OPs question...I'm happy with Trest, he was the guy I wanted, and I don't think any of the other coaches hired can compete with him in regards to pure football IQ. Or actual IQ for that matter.

I think Chip Kelly was created in one of Al Davis's wet dreams. He is all about speed, speed, speed which really works well in college when you can recruit elite talent that other teams can't compete with. Not so much in the NFL, he has great players to run his system right now with Vick, McCoy, and Desean Jackson and its still not going to work in the long run. Imagine if he tries to run it with Nick Folk or Matt Barkley. That offense needs Mike Vick or someone similar otherwise its gonna crash and burn.

Trestman's offense isn't about gimmicks its about motion, misdirection, and using the short passing game to set up big plays. The Bears have the better coach AND the better offense.

Kelly is convinced it's about snaps. He's far from the first guy to feel this way.

There is something telling about a grown man that still goes by the name "Chip"..I knew 1 kid nick named "Chip" when I was growing up,and he stopped using it when he turned 10.

His last name is Chip. His first name is Potato and he has a brother name Chocolate.

good. Eagles fans legitimately thought they could go undefeated and make the Super Bowl. :nope:

maybe win more than 1 game first? perhaps realize that yardage doesn't equate to winning?

I'll take Trestman 100 out of a 100..

Kelly won't make it through any season without his QB getting hurt....

Also might be effective now, but give DCs some time to figure out a way and the pace won't bother anyone.,.

Won't be nearly as effective after Vick is on the IR... And that will happen.

Imagine Cutler running a hurry up, no-huddle offense the entire game. Imagine him running around the backfield and flinging the ball everywhere in the name of speed. That's a recipe for disaster.

The Chicago Bears are all about ball control. Our defense will be gassed by the second quarter if the offense either punts or scores a TD in less than 2 minutes every possession. We saw this the last couple of years with a Mike Tice and Mike Martz offense and no skill players to speak of. Trestman is perfect in that he provides a good balance to our team.

Michael Vick or LeSean McCoy won't last the entire season. Mark my words.

Offenses that rely on gimmicks don't last. I'll take growing pains and wins over a really good good season opener every time.

This is just a horrible, horrible poll.

1 - Totally different players, so you just can't cut/paste with a different cast and expect things to be the same.
2 - Chip Kelly got a five-year contract worth $32.5 million. That's top 5 coach type money. Not sure what Trestman's contract is, but I'm thinking the Bears weren't at the table with that price tag.

Trestman was a good hire for the Bears and Kelly was a good hire for the Eagles. Can't there be two good things happening without one side losing?
