Full Marshall quote on @ESPN1000 on claim #Bears have buyer's remorse about Cutler: "What I would say is that we all know Jay is capable of getting it done. It doesn’t always fall on him. I guess that’s why those guys are always the highest paid players out there because when you win and everything is going good they get all the glory, and when it’s bad, they take more than what they should but I can understand that as far as being a business man, I’d have buyers remorse too.”

So Marshall does admit he would have buyer's remorse about Cutler, but only after he expressed faith in Cutler's ability to get it done.

...

Well folks, Cutler's biggest supporter over the years is slowly (but not completely just yet) hopping off the bandwagon. The wheels are coming off the Jay train. Yikes! Part of me feels bad for Cutler, taking all the blame for a team that is badly run from top to bottom, but part of me also knows this time had to come eventually when people realized Jay is just not going to get it done.

Jay was always the sacrificial lamb in Chicago

Angelo brought him here wih no weapons, no protection for years, got his brain beat in...by the time the Lovie era ended Cutler had already earned so much enmity from fans and the media that the writing was on the wall this year, if he didnt set the world on fire he'd be blamed.

The quarterback is always to blame in Chicago.

To me, Rex Grossman was a smarter QB. He just had toddler hands (fumbled snaps)

What does Grossman's dad's comments have to do with our current situation? From what I remember, he complained about the Bears not being built around the passing game. Jay has a passing coach, two stud WR's and a TE, and an OK if not great Oline. We've certainly built this team around him these last two years.

look..... jay does not take coaching, he's not a student of the game and it shows by the fact he leads the NFL in turnovers

Oh please. The bears want Cutler to succeed. They need him to succeed. He is not a freaking sacrificial lamb. ****, since Emery arrived, every decision made has been aimed at helping Cutler to succeed.

Take any of the top QBs in the league and they would light shit up on this team, right now, as it is. Bears did their best to give Cutler everything he needed the past 2 years. So if he fails in that situation, then yeah, its going to affect peoples' opinion of him.

I agree that JA hung Cutler out to dry, but the opposite has been true under Emery.
