Warren and Poles deserve a lot of credit. If BJ did not feel comfortable with them, this would have definitely have been a “no go”.

Moreover, Poles in particular deserves a lot of credit for this get.

I agree with this. I don't think the sell job was to McCaskey to hire Ben Johnson, it was to Ben Johnson to be with the Bears. I think Poles has to feel vindicated that Johnson chose the Bears despite the Raiders trying to get Johnson's alleged "preferred GM".

But I don't know if Poles deserves credit for Caleb...he kind of lucked out into getting Caleb, like Pace did with Mack. JMO

This organization doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt but I suppose actually getting the guy you wanted is a step in the right direction.

My journey as a fan was being 12 and thinking in 1989 “oh, going to the NFC championship game is what we do.” I was shattered as Jerry rice ran past Richard dent that year. Then things went dark.

If the bears can put together a team that poses some danger to playoff opponents and just gets back there most years, I’ll be thrilled. I haven’t lived the kind of bears fan life where I’d be complaining about not winning super bowls or NFC championship games ever. Just getting to the NFC championship game every 5-6 years on average would make everything else house money.

This move made me a believer that maybe, just maybe, the mccaskeys decided to have a little pride in who they are. Now go out and show the world that it’s not false hope. I have the bar set low and they won’t have a bigger fan than I if they do it.

I picture play it through saying they will show me by winning with Ben Johnson and Caleb. Great… you got me lol. I’ll gladly say I was wrong.
