Daily Herald | LeBron called Rose after Cavs' elimination
Shortly after Cleveland was eliminated by Boston in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, LeBron James placed a call to Bulls guard Derrick Rose.

What did they talk about?

Word is, James said he likes Rose's game, likes his team and would welcome the chance to play together.

Before putting LeBron's No. 6 Bulls jersey up for sale, keep in mind that it's possible James made similar calls to Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Maybe even Nets center Brook Lopez. But it has been made clear through various channels that James is very interested in joining the Bulls when he becomes a free agent on July 1.

New York, New Jersey and Miami figure to be James' top options, along with re-signing in Cleveland. Staying with the Cavaliers is starting to seem less likely after the early playoff exit exposed flaws in the team's winning formula.

The James phone call to Rose was mentioned by ESPN reporter Scoop Jackson and confirmed by a league source. Rose has been taking things slowly since the Bulls season ended with a first-round loss to Cleveland, but he visits the Berto Center on occasion. The source said the James-Rose conversation did not last very long.

Well if James did make that call to Wade then thats not good because there was an article in the Sun-Sentinel this weekend about how Wade said he will play Robin to LeBrons Batman. Those are the two best players in the league, i dont want to see them together unless its in Chicago.

I honestly think Rose + LeBron would be more effective then Wade + LeBron. Wade and LeBron might be too much when both demand the ball. And not saying Wade is going downhill or anything like that, but he does turn 29 in Janurary while Derrick turns 22 this October.

That's true. LeBron + Rose would be a tandem for many years, whereas Wade + LBJ wouldn't have as long a stint.

I've watched most of Wade's games since his days at Marq and like LeBron, they both demand the ball because the guys around them cant do their jobs. They know when to get people involved and when to do it themselves. Wade's game is so similar to Rose's that it doesnt make sense to say that one combo is more effective than the other when essentially its the same thing. Only difference is that Wade is much better than Rose at their similar game.

The thing that makes Miami a bad option is that once they sign both Wade and Bron, what money do they have to build the rest of their team? Keep in mind Wade's injury issues, if he goes down, LeBron is FKD!

Also dont bring age into this. LeBron is doing this to win in the immediate future. In 5 years, Wade will still be a baller but right now, he's a beast.

The last paragraph was partially true, in my eyes. LeBron would wanna win multiple championships, who wouldn't? So, I think that Rose can blossom (no pun intended) to throwing up Wade-like stats. His age being significantly younger means that could bring more to LeBron's table.

You always have to take age into account no matter who it is. 2 key words you said in that sentence were: Wade's Injuries and 5 Years. Considering then Wade will be 34, you do not know what kind of condition he will be in. I love Wade but he does have injury issues, one good injury and LeBron won't be winning at all with that squad.

I like that Rose blossom line.

Well look at it this way, what if Rose doesnt get any better or how many years will it take for Rose to get to a Wade like level?

The injury thing is a big problem but i really dont see the age thing being that important. Wade can win titles with LeBron this year and for the next 5, depending on what they bring in to surround them. LeBron might not be thinking 10 years down the line.

If you watch the kid, you know the sky is the limit. And playing with a guy like LeBron at age 22, watch out!
