OK, I make two salsa vedes.

Peel and boil tomatillos
Place in blender with white onion, cilantro, garlic powder, salt, fresh squeezed lime. Add in as many jalepenos to your liking.

Other version
roast your tomatillos, onions, garlic cloves, and jalepenos
DO NOT REMOVE THE CHAR
add to blender with cilantro, salt, and fresh squeezed lime

Both version are phenomenal and last well, not sure. I've had it in the fridge for three weeks. But not longer...We are it all
They both sound great, and verde is my favorite of the two. I like the idea of roasting, but must be honest, I personally don't like to use anything other than a well sharpened knife to chop up onions. Hate putting them in a blender/processor.

I don't have any experience with planer boards, joined a fishing forum and been reading up on them...they look easy to build and have heard the same about them being effective. When we drop anchor we plan on throwing out a couple crab traps while we fish.

We got a Scorpion 30' center console...View attachment 2024View attachment 2025

Congrats on the boat, bro, very nice. You got twins! Take that ***** off-shore for da tunas! haha

Yeah, my step-dad made his planer boards, if you need any help doing it let me know. I can get him to send pics of his with measurements or whatever you need.

The issue is salsa verde is smooth while a pico is the chopped veggie type.

You can roast in a dry pan on your stove as well.

Maybe it's just me, but I just think it takes away the flavor/aroma of the onion doing that.

No joke. Stone crab tacos are delicious.

When I lived on the west coast we used to fish for king crab. Nothing better than fresh seafood.

I'm craving some Tacos Al Pastor. Had them a few times when I lived in Texas and they're delicious. I haven't seen them at any of the places around here.

Prepped the Tacos de Cecina last night and cooked them tonight. Delicious as usual. Some pics for those interested.

Just found an awesome slow cooker recipe for shredded beef.

1 bottle of hot sauce-something similar to tabasco
1 onion chopped up
1 tablespoon each of cayenne pepper, cumin, & black pepper
1 1/4 cups of diced green chili's
1 teaspoon salt
1 chuck roast

Brown roast on all sides in a pan over med-high heat
Place roast in slow cooker and add water to cover 1/3 of roast
Add the rest of the ingredients and turn cooker on low until the roast is finished cooking
Pull roast out and shred with forks

You now have delicious meat for tacos, burritos, or tamales

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone from Jalisco in the Quad city area...plus that dish takes an entire day to prepare.
